Years ago I bought this necktie out of a shop in Nashville, TN. The companies name on the back is Lights, Camera, Action with a P.O. box out of Chatsworth, Ca. It also states that it is made out of "reel motion picture film" and not to get wet. The tie is about 20" long, it has about 12 different Betty Boop picture on the film and what looks like a brass bottom to keep the it together. It has an adjustable neck and it's a plastic case. Was wondering how common this piece is and what it could be going for in price these days? I've been trying to find info on it online but no one seems to have any information. Please help.

I haven't been on here for a while & then when I made it back I saw the site colsed for vacation w/ a very lovely upgrade when it got back. Sorry this is a bit long.:o

Well it's been a rough summer around here. On June 5, 2010 Illinois was hit was a bout of tornadoes. In all of my life I had hoped to never deal w/ 1 hitting my house, much less me being home @ the time. Anyway on that fated nite my home was hit w/ a tornado. My house was condemned by the city even tho the Adjustor & contractor said it could be repaired. Our garage was a total liss, our shed was picked up & dropped in the neighbors yard upside down collapsed. Our picture window was blown into the living room over the top of my couch & we had glass all over the place, so much so that it almost looked like a sheet of ice in my living room. My curio cabinet was destroyed & so was the entertainment stand. Our antenna tower was bent over the top of the house & the side was opened from top to bottom on the NW corner (attached all tha way & the top & NE corner) from being open an inch @ the top to being 4 foot away from the wall & founation. It graduated back to being attached as you moved along the N side of the house. You could stand @ the N edge of the living room & lean forward to look into the basement.

We were in the house in the basement when we got hit. Our home was the only 1 that couldn't be lived in/repaired on our street due to the tornado. A lot of people lost their homes in my town & some surrounding communities due to that system. To my knowledge there was no loss of life even w/ the severity of the tornadoes. I think ours ended up being F2 & 2 hit our town that nite. FEMA has not declared us a disaster area due to the fact that we didn't have enuff homes in our town lost. My car was cost wise totalled & Dave's (my husband's) was very damaged (will be in the shop for repairs for a total of 5 weeks @ the end of this week). I only had liability on my car so it wasn't covered. It still drives well just looks like a tornado hit it. lol

Some of my Betty Boop collectibles were destroyed & some received minor injuries. :( I also lost to damage my whole collection of Boyd's Faerie & my Kitchen Faries. My other collection that had recieved substantial damage was my horse collection.

In the past few months it has been very hectic. We stayed in our house that nite in the kitchen, for 3 nites we stayed in our pop up camper in our backyard, 2 nites we stayed @ my Mom's, & then 5 nites we stayed @ a motel in town. We then found a very nice tiny rental that we have been staying in since. We are in the process of buying a new home only 1/2 a mile from where we lived & close on it this coming Tuesday (not soon enuff). Before we made an offer on this house we looked @ something like 70 in an 8 week period. grrrrr Not fun I can assure you. When we moved to the rental house our dog Belle got fleas from the grass @ the rental & we didn't find out until later that nite when we brought her in the house. You can guess what happened w/ them buggers. We went for dinner on another nite after I started a load of laundry & got home to a flooded basement. Found out a couple weeks later that tubs w/ stuff from the other house stored here got water in them thru the bottom. More damamge to stuff. Then someone tried to break into my car @ work on the damaged side of the car. Whatever. People are stupid. It's just been a real treat in the aftermath of the torado in more ways than 1.

I am so thankful that we are alive & weren't hurt. God was looking our for us. Even tho we lost our house & some of our possessions there were people in our town that lost everything & my thoughts & prayers go out to them & their families. Our insurance company has been wonderful &very helpful. The nite of & weeks following the utility works & law enforcement that we dealt w/ were/are very compassionate & helpful. People @ my work & our families have been a God send as they helped us pack/move/fed us. The people @ Dave's work did nothing for us & he's been there for 11 years. :( Oh well.

Anyway it's just a bit of an update. After we get moved into our house this coming week I'm planning on stopping here a bit more as I have missed my fellow/ette Boopers.

Hello my fellow Boop-a-holics! I have been an avid collector for 25 years and have decided that it is time to let most of it go so as to support my rediscovered love of horses and the expense that goes with it. I have many many items up for grabs that are very unique and or valuable. I have everything from trading cards to a limited edition neon clock. I will post several pics to give you all an idea, but feel free to ask me if you're looking for something in particular. I may just have it! ;) Thanks for looking, long live America's sweetheart!!!
