I just saw the first one on TV the other night and really enjoyed it. I certainly do want to see this new movie.

One of the specialty channels, the History Channel I think, has been showing a few special programs about the actual real history of the privateers and pirates of the Carribbean. It is pretty interesting...

Ya know...My grandpapa...was a REAL pirate here in the caribbean! I didn't know him well. Traveled with others on a large ship...all around the 7Seas...including Mexico and the Caribbean.

The original Pirates Movie was on USA Saturday 07/15. My guess is they will repeat it someday soon.

Yes, they were fascinating charecters... but I wouldn't have wanted to run into one!!! They were very ruthless. I learned about Captain Morgan, Blackbeard, and a bunch of the other pirates of notariety. The were indeed very colorful. Most of them had very short lives. Short, but exciting, and very free. I suspect that Hollywood will be taking notice and we might be seeing a few more pirate films in the coming months ahead... ARRRGGGGH!

Yes, I was talking about that. It was on 8PM-11PM in CA. I recorded it on tape and haven't watched it yet.

It's been # 1 for 3 weeks in a row. People seem to love it, however the critics had more reservations.

I do too!
Often I don't agree with many of the critics. Sometimes I think that they often lose sight of the fact that movies are for entertainment and offer an escape from the real world and they don't all have to have a meaningful message. Being a critic is highly subjective. And sometimes you can ruin a movie experience by over analyzing it....
