Can somebody explain exactly what those two words mean? When did it come about? Are these hippies?

Wasn't it... that people wanted to expand their families after the war, when the economy was getting better again? So a lot of babies were born after the war, and that created a baby boom! That's what I thought anyway...

The term Baby Boomer applies to men and women who were born after the second world war....and many of the Baby Boomers were hippies... I'm a Baby Boomer.... but I wasn't a hippie.......

there you can find out all about us "boomers" Also there are places to review the 50's, 60' and so on, to be able to learn what happend then or to go back down memory lane. You can find out titles and artists of songs. You can acutally hear some of the songs. You can hear theme songs of shows that were on TV, too.

I was born in 1955 and I think I am considered at the tail end of the Baby Boomers. After World War II ended, the servicemen all came home and there was a surge in births. Families were made up of several children. That term is used to describe my generation. The Baby Boomers make up a huge part of the population. When my generation gets into old age there will be a lot of us needing help and services. because of the number of us and the improvement and longer life spans they are saying that we will be the largest elderly population ever.

A few baby Boomers became hipppies, but believe me, that was really a very small part of the population.....

Not trying to get off the "MAIN" subject...but camel spiders? I wonder why in the world are they called that?
Do they roll with the camels like ticks do with dogs?

I'm thinking they are called camel spiders becuase they are in hot and desert areas. Kuwait and Iraq are mainly desert country.

Someone sent me a picture of them by email and they are absolutely huge and the ugliest thing I've ever seen!!! The one that I saw was as big as an Alaskan king crab!!

Anyway I wondered if you'd heard of them... they are really bad news!! I heard they are called camel spiders because they jump so high and latch onto the camel's stomach!

And as a Baby Boomer... I'd never heard or seen them before.

I found the website that has the photo and info about the spider in Iraq and I posted a new thread just for it. I thought tarantulas were bad but they're nothing compared to a camel spider.
