I went to see Martha Reeves (as in 'and the vandellas') last night in her 'Dancing in the Streets' theatre tour and....get this....I MET HER!! I have been a big Motown fan for a while now, so to meet one of the legends was just huge! She let me take a picture of her with my phone camera but my hands were shaking so much it came out blurry. She's one cool lady!
So I thought I'd ask if any one has any claim to fame stories. Has anyone met a celebrity? xx

Yeah I got an autograph from Martha Reeves and attempted to take a picture with my camera phone but as I said, my hands were shaking so much that it came out blurred and now it looks like some random woman!! haha xx

I did took pix when I met Ro and Steo the first time, but later at Eloys house I wasn't allowed... But I did get autographs!I have to say... Steo's a lot nicer that Ro... Steo took the time to give everyone an autograph and take pictures, on his in AND out the studio. So I have two. And ro just gave some people an autograph (I was lucky!) and ran inside! And Eloy's the coolest of all!

Congrats on meeting Martha Reeves!! How fun!! She sounds like a really nice lady!
10eke I don't know the celebs you met and you probably wouldnt' know any of mine either.
I worked for radio stations in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Prescott and I got to meet a lot of celebs. I have a wonderful Brag Book full of pictures of country music stars and actors too.

My brother in law would agree with you BikerBetty. He is A autograph collector so he has gotten all kinds of autographs from celebrities. So when Cheryl Crowe was in town for A concert he decided that he was going to try and get her autograph well when he approached her she completley snubbed him and was mean supposably and my sister was with him she seen the whole thing too. They said she was just really mean and ignoring her fans.:(

Gee Jenny I hate to hear about people being snubbed by celebs.. some of them have let their fame go to their heads and they forget what it was like to be an unknown. That's sad about Cheryl Crowe and the way she treated your brother.
I had bad treatment from Tanya Tucker and Hank Williams Jr.
BBooper... give it time, you'll meet more celebs someday too.

well i've met a spansh singer named Yahir. He's a very nice person. I'm in love with him. I've followed him since before he was a star. He came out in a show that was like American Idol. But these people live together and they learn to act & stuff.
I got his autograph and two kisses from him which to me was a dream come true!i couldnt take a pic though cuz his body guard was really mean and said she would take the camera away if i did.
thats my celeb story now all i need is Eminem and im kool!:D :D

That's too bad... Fans keep the artist in the charts. Without fans there is no artist! I thought all of bz were nice, and when I met steve I was sure the others were nice too, but Ro has become so arrogant! You know he's asking 2 milion euros to have a goodbye tour with the others?! Those were his friends!! Would you ask 2 mil to hang out with your friends?
Bupadup, that yahir sounds really nice! Do you have a pic of him? What songs does he sing?

I agree, these stars need to realize that we are the reason they are popular, that they can afford that fancy expensive car, and fancy houses ect. They should also realize that we like them becuase we like their music.

Hi There;
I was fortunate to get to attend quite a few Bruins hockey games with the team dentist. I got to wait with the wives after the game and met quite a few of the hockey players ( Bruins and visitors ) I always brought my camera and would have the players sign the photos.
Among the most famous hockey players
Bobby Orr - Phil Esposito - John Bucyk - Ray Bourque - Cam Neely - Terry O'Reilly - Joe Thornton - Wayne Gretzky - Mario Lemieux
Red Sox - Carl Yastrzemski - Wade Boggs - Bernie Carbo - Roger Clemens - Bill Lee
Football - Doug Flutie ( ex Boston College QB - Heismann trophy winner - Bears - Patriots - CFL - Buffalo - San Diego ) He lives in the next town ( Natick ) so I see him playing basketball at the gym quite often. I never bug him when he is playing ball ( or at Pizza Hut ) but got his autograph after a celebrity hockey game.
T V - Lenny Clark - Boston Comedian and actor now on It's all Relative on ABC. He is a very nice guy.
Jay Leno - he is from the area. I met him at a comedy club before he replaced Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show. He is a very nice guy too.
Alex Trebek of Jeopardy - since he is Canadian it is no surprise that I met him after a celebrity hockey game
Mike Myers - Saturday Night Live - Shrek - Austin Powers - Another Canadian - I met him at a Bruins game against his favorite team the Toronto Maple Leafs
Musicians -
Nils Lofgren ( Crazy Horse - Grin - Solo - Bruce Springsteen's E Steet Band ) - David Johansen ( AKA Buster Poindexter Hot Hot Hot ) - Graham Parker - Eric Burdon ( Animals ) - Paul Rodgers (Bad Company ) all after their shows.
A number of local musicians - Bradley Delp and Tom Scholz (Boston) - Joe Perry - Joey Kramer - Tom Hamilton ( Aerosmith ) - Susan Tedeschi
Politicians
Mike Dukakis ( ex Governor ) He was known for riding the subway with us common folk. I saw him a number of times. He was a friend of our boss at the time who had been a politician himself. He ran against George Bush ( the father )
John Kerry - ( our Senator ) he is also running against George Bush too ( the son ) I actually did not meet him but he sat in our section at the Bruins games quite often but I let him watch the games in peace. He is a good hockey player himself and plays in the celebrity hockey games for charity. Boston is hosting the democratic convention in July so there will be politicians all over town.

Wow John it sounds like you've met a whole lot of celebs in your time!!! Good for you!
I am jealous that you got to meet Joe Perry!!
Sorry I won't be able to support your candidate for prez... I just recieved an autographed picture of President and Mrs. Bush in the mail!! You'll find "Re-Elect Bush" signs in our yard.

Time Out
You are assuming that the democratic candidates are my candidates. I did not say that. I am a fan of George W. Bush (some of the time) John Kerry was ranked in the top one per cent of the Senators ( which would put him as first ) when it comes to environmental issues ( based on a Environmental report card ) I applaud him for that, but he is too liberal for me on many issues. I do not publicize which candidate I will vote for.
We are surrounded by democrats in this state.
John F. Kennedy - President
Edward Kennedy - Senator
Michael Dukakis - Governor - Presidential Candidate
John Kerry - Senator - Presidential Candidate
Did you notice that Massachusetts was the only state to vote for George McGovern? ( Nixon won the other 49 states )
We currently have a Republican Governor - Mitt Romney ( former US Olympic Committee chairman )

Oh John... please accept my apology... guess that's what I get for assuming... sorry about that.
I am more similar to you than I originally thought. I like Kerry's record on the environment too and I support him in those issues but I agree with you that he is too liberal on some of the issues.
I'm glad to hear that you are a George Bush fan some of the time.. that's a lot better than not being a fan at all!! So there's still hope right?
I know that Mass. is a highly Democratic state and that's ok... if we didn't have Repubs and Dems and Independents, then this wouldn't be as great a country as it is? right???????
I remember John Kennedy and I loved him... I was really too young to care much about him as president.. I just liked him a lot!
And a friend of mine and I went to hear Bobby Kennedy speak the night he was shot... so I haven't always been a hard core Republican. I think I really became one after listening to good ole Rush Limbaugh (who also goes off the deep end sometimes) and I have always liked Ronald Reagan and both Bush president's.
And our senator John Mc Cain is a really super guy and so is Arnold the gov of California.....
So I guess the Repubs have gotten into my blood...
I barely remember the McGovern/Nixon campaign.. but that's an interesting stat about Mass voting for MCGOV over Nixon......
Where do you find this stuff???
