I saw somewhere, that a woman was doing Betty Boop Motorcycle windshield etchings. Does anyone here have any idea where I might have seen this? I suffer from CRS. lol
Thanks,

Hi Knucklegg! Welcome to the forum. It looks like you are a motorcycle enthusiast. What do you ride?

P.S. I've seen the windshield first hand at a show here in Arizona that Livingbooper and Don attended and I can tell you that the picture does not do that windshield or the motorcycle justice. It is beautiful!!!

Thanks for the info. I may be getting in touch with you (livingbooper) about it pretty soon. I would love to have Betty on my windshield, and I talked to another girl who's a Betty B. fan and may be interested as well.
What do I ride? 2002 Suzuki Savage 650. I just started riding a year ago, so I'm still pretty much a newbie still. I'm almost ready for something just a tad bigger (or dressier), but I gotta sell the Savage first. How bout you? And are you a member of any of the motorcycle forums online?

Hi Knuckle... which model motorcycle are you riding?
I'm riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson XLH 1200 Sportster. My husband rides a 2003 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Classic.

I currently ride a 2002 Suzuki Savage 650, and my b/f rides a 2001 Honda Shadow 750 Spirit. I am trying to sell my Savage so I can buy something a little dressier... possibly a Honda Shadow A.C.E 750.

Hi Knuckle....... I have a Suzuki 250 that I bought brand new and rode for about 1,000 miles before I graduated to my Harley Sportster. I call her my Harley Training Wheels but she is so much fun to ride!! I love to ride that little Suzuki to brush up on my riding skills too.
I thought since you were using the name Knuckle that maybe you were riding an old Harley Knucklehead!!! HA HA.. you probably never heard of that bike before have you?
My brother-in-law has a Honda Shadow too and I know some other women riders who ride Hondas and Suzukis too. They are nice bikes. I just like to encourage all women who want to to get out there and learn to ride.
My husband and I are partial to Harleys and I love mine. It has some loud pipes on it (thanks to my husband) and you can hear me coming down the road on it.
I wasn't sure I'd be able to ride a 1200 because of the weight and size but I'm glad that I accomplished that task and I owe it to taking 3 days of motorcycle riding classes and for buying my lilttle Suzuki too. It's cute... it looks like a little Harley Fat Boy.. ha ha!! Big tires and fat gas tank!! And I can get it up to 75 mph!!

BBooper... I know it is confusing about motorcycle numbers.... usually the numbers refer to the size of the motorcycle engine.
So the bigger the number...usually the bigger the engine.

Hi Biker... Yes, I have heard of the Knucklehead lol... But actually this nickname was given to me by my b/f. Don't ask me what it means... but it's cute eh? Nothin wrong with being partial to what you ride.... I love my Savage, but because of the local dealers, I'll never own another Suzuki. The Suz dealer nearest to me didn't even have an oil filter for the Savage!
I too encourage women to get out and ride, but in this area there are very few who do. I recently joined the local chapter of the SCRC, but so far I haven't met any female members who ride their own. It's a great bunch though.
To change the subject.. how are y'all on tattoos here? I have one of a butterfly, and am considering getting a Betty B tatt for my birthday. Anyone else have any tatts?

Jenny,
I was scared too! But My b/f insisted that even at 40 I could learn to ride... and he was right. With his coaching and encouragement I can ride very well and LOVE it. Obviously, riding isn't for everyone, but the sense of accomplishment and independence I get from riding my own bike is remarkable. I still like riding on the back of Tony's bike sometimes, but it's not the same as riding my own.

Hey Knucklegg... I learned to ride last summer when I got my new Harley at the age of 53!!! I spent 3 days down in Phoenix taking the motorcycle training classes.. I was the oldest person there and the only woman!! But I passed and boy was I happy!!!
I love riding my motorcycle... there's no way to explain it to people... you just have to be a rider yourself to really understand it. There are quite a few women riders here in Arizona.
Ride safe on your Savage!
I saw a group of about 12 motorcycles the other day riding in two rows and they all tried to turn left in front of oncoming traffic and two of the motorcycles were hit by cars. No one was seriously hurt but I sure thought those motorcyclists were crazy to try and run through all at once! That's one of the things that gives bikers a bad name when they ride as stupidly as that group did!

Biker....
I agree with you on the 'stupid biker' thing. Since I've been riding I've seen some really safe and cautious riders, and a few really wreckless ones as well. I hope they never have to learn the hard way the price of such behavior.
You ride safe as well, and thanks for the post.

I know what you mean ... I guess it's the same with all drivers both 4 wheel and 2 wheel.
I'd only been riding for a month when I was nearly involved in a bad motorcycle accident. Another fellow was riding with Don and I and we were heading for the Harley dealer when a lady turned left directly in front of us. The lead rider was unable to avoid colliding with her and it nearly killed him. Don and I both managed to get stopped but I became hysterical when I realized what had happened. Needless to say, the rider survived but has gone through many surgeries to save both an arm and a leg.
Don was so worried about me, he called the dealer to have someone ride my bike for me because he didn't think I could handle it..... however we were at the accident scene for over 2 hours and I finally calmed down and a highway patrolman talked to me and said his wife also witnessed a tragic accident and she never climbed on her bike again and he said "if you don't ride it now.. chances are you probably never will again".... So I prayed about it and decided that he was right and I rode it to the dealer and have been on it ever since.
I just try to ride as safely as I can and that's all any of us can ever really do.

What an awful experience! I'm glad you got back on the bike, but I don't know if I could have. We ride as safely and as conscientiously as we possibly can, and we're still at the mercy of the cagers. The lack of respect shown to motorcycles on the road is appalling at times. I think bikers everywhere should send letters to their congressmen suggesting that every person in the country applying for a driver's license be required to take a course in motorcycle safety. It's the only way for them to appreciate the extra dangers and unique hazzards that exist for bikes and bikers.

Yep... I agree... until an auto driver realizes the dangers that motorcycle riders face, they will never learn to watch out for the other guy.
Every email message that I send out has this line in it as part of my signature:
"Please help us spread the word... tell all your friends to watch out for motorcyclists when they're driving their cars or trucks. Let's make the world a safer place for motorcycles!"
I don't know if it helps but I figure it can't hurt either.

I've seen this in your signature, and I think it's great. I may borrow your idea and do something similar myself. I'm not a very good organizer, but I would really like to see some rallies and rides centered around the concept of motorcycle safety awareness. The publicity just might help someone be more careful when they drive. If just one cager becomes more aware of the hazzards of motorcycles it would be worth it.

We belong to two Harley Owner Groups and they have motorcycle safety brochures and classes at some of their local functions. I guess because we're in the minority when it comes to vehicles, it will be an uphill battle for us. Just ride very, very safe!!!
I'm sorry I forgot that you are one of our customers too. Forgive my memory lapse.
