Hi All,

I was hoping to possibly get some info from Leonard Ellis about what era this Betty figurine is from and an approximation of what it might be worth.

Please bear with me, as I am new to this forum. :)

I've had this figurine for as long as i can remember; my aunt gave it to me when i was a kid. It's some sort of glass; porcelain, maybe. She's about a foot tall and her arms and legs are segmented and moveable. Her limbs are jointed with string that runs through the entire length. Because she's strung with string, she is not able to stand on her own, but she is posable in a sitting position. Her head is not moveable as it is fixed to her body.

I have a few pictures here so that you can see her. Unfortunately, she has no markings on her, whatsoever, that might have given an indication as to her origin. Sadly, though, she does have a chipped leg. :(

thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Metoo . ..

These are dolls made at a craft or ceramic studio. In the early 1980s a supplier of molds to the ceramic studio market made copies of the Vandor jointed doll, then sold the molds so hobbyists could make their own dolls. So it could have been made mid-1980s to present day, as these molds are still around.
As far as value, since they are unlicensed and considered hobby or folk-art, there really is no intrinsic value.

I often wondered if hand made items would increase in value... now I know that they probably won't... thanks Leonard.
