Scenario: Your friend picks you up and out on the town you go for a nice couple of hours. You park and go inside this place for a few laughs and drinks. Upon returning to the car, there is this parking ticket flapping in the wind confined under the windshield. The friend tells you that you should help pay for the ticket?

Should you?

Hi There;
I would offer to pay half of the parking ticket, although if I had pointed out that we ought to find a legal spot and the driver ignored my suggestion I would do so under duress.
I believe that this question was recently sent to Dear Abby but I will not mention her reply since it would influence other responses.

I would offer to pay too!
I got a parking ticket just before christmas (in fact my car was nearly towed away). Anyway - I had driven my friend all the way to Bristol (about 100miles) so that she could have a photo session that she had been given for her birthday. Because of this, she offered to pay half of the ticket. I didn't accept, but I did appreciate the offer x

hmmm... that's a tough one....... why was the parking ticket issued in the first place? Was it an obvious violation?

Was it for parking in a no parking zone or red zone or tow away zone? Was it because the parking meter ran out? Was it because there was a time limit for parking?

I need more info before I can provide an answer to this question.

It was a few minutes before "FREE" parking in a "NO PARKING" before...whatever time zone. She figured it wouldn't hurt to park a few minutes before the permitted time.

ah ha... so she tried to jump the gun eh? So that's why she got a ticket... hmm... I think I would've advised her not to park there if it was still a no parking zone when she actually parked there... the law is the law......

...about women paying for the night out sometimes?
Her car...the gas...dinner...drinks...movie...pictures together...
the whole night is on her.

Some women actually think that the man should ALWAYS pay the tabs and tips!
Hmmmmmmm. I didn't know that!

In the beginning Danny took me out and payed everthing, but after about two months we starte splitting everything. Or he pays my movie first and when we go again, I pay his.

That's the way it was with me and my hubby. When we first started dating he paid for everything he insisted on it. Now we split the cost on alot of things now.:D

i think ladies should split it with the men.. but the men should treat them from time to time ;)

I agree that if it's the first few initial dates, then the person who initiated the date should pick up the tab.

However, I don't think that it should always be the man who picks up the tab and I also don't think it should always be the man who does the inviting.

Before I was married, I invited male friends to go out with me and I picked up the tab several times. It was fun and a great switch for them!
