Who wants to join my marmy?

I am recruiting for my marmite army (my marmy if you will)!
Let me explain......
I love marmite. I don't know if they have marmite in America - I don't think they do but just to fill you in if you don't know what it is, Marmite is a strange but yummy spread - not to be confused with vegemite or bovrille. It is good for toast, crumpets and sandwiches. I challenge anyone to describe it's unique taste. It is a black gooey substance which has this love/hate tag attatched to it. The advertisements on tv play on the fact that you either love it or hate it - there's no happy medium!
So....I want to know how many of you Boopers love marmite! Now, you may think that I'm loopy starting this thread (lets face it I think you already knew this)!
You may not be aware of this, but there is a marmite war going on as we speak between a group of people from where I live....I am the leader of the marmies and my friend Sally is the leader of the non marmies. Our friendship group is fast dividing! It is actually very funny just how passionate my marmy is about the spread!

So......who wants to join my marmy?!!
(I do sometimes worry for my sanity)!

Marmite... Hmmmm.... I tried it so long ago that I can hardly remember what it tastes like! Let me see if there is some in the cupboard.....Ahhhh.. Afraid not! But hey I'lll be on your side anyway!:D

I think it may be very rare in USA. When I was in a restaurant in Florida, one of the waiters heard our British accents and randomly came over to us to talk about marmite! He said that he had a friend who lived in England, and he sent him some marmite saying how great it was but he didn't realise that you're just meant to spread it quite thinly on toast - and he took a spoonful of it and put it in his mouth! Now you don't really want to do that cos marmite has a very strong taste and if you've never tried it before there's a chance you may really hate it! But it obviously left a big impression as he was so eagar to strike up such a bazaar conversation with strangers! hehe!

lol marmite now this is a random topic, the slogan used to be the growing up spread, bcoz lil kids liked it hmmmmmmmmmm.....id never give marmite to any of my kids!!!!
