My dad used to take me to the swap meet with him when I was a kid.. haven't been to one in a long, long time.

They don't have swap meets in England? They are fun... they used to have them in old drive in movie theatre parking lots. The only thing I didn't like is that it was usually hot and dusty.

In the old days, people would clean out their garages and houses and sell stuff like furniture, tools, clothes, etc. and then take it to the "swap meet" to sell it. Then vendors started bringing new merchandise to sell too. Everyone walks up and down the aisles looking at the stuff and sometimes you can haggle the prices down. But there is usually lots of different things you can buy and it usually is just on the weekend like Saturday or Sunday. Now you are probably really confused huh?

Do you folks have flea markets or garage sales there in England?

Car Boot Sales??!!! Wow that's an interesting title for a swap meet or garage sale... hmmm....

Do you folks think our sayings are interesting too? Someone once told me she had to go vacuum but she called it "hoovering"... Of course I had no idea what she meant and then she said "hoovering is sweeping the carpet with a machine".... then it made sense to me.
