It might seem like it's all pointless - I remember feeling like that, but I'm glad I finished school and college. Just stick with it - it'll all be over before you know it! Then you'll be stuck working, wishing you could be back at school with your mates! ;)

I dropped out of school after only completing the 9th Grade and held meniel Jobs that paid little and gave a sense of being none. I was lucky i that I received my GED via the Military during the Vietnam War. After I got out I went on to get an AAS in Business and a certificate in Computers. I visited my old school and was immediatly sorry That I quit. I missed so much learning. What seems useless now won't be later on in life. It's a Da_n site easier to learn what is needed via a school of learning as opposed to learning it in the school of life AKA school of hard knocks and non careing. There is also the flipside of school , the social side where you learn ( one way or the other) how to better get along with others and how to interact. also there is the learning how to take and use directions and instructions. 2 Other very important lessons that are best learned in school. Don't be a fool!! Stay in school!!!

I sometimes like school.I have the best friends that I see every morningToday was good I got naminated for court worming.That was cool.I know I wont win because I am not a prep there the one who always win.It was cool to be nominated.I also had clinicals were I go to a nursing home and watch the nurse do there jobs.After what I seen I dont know if I want to be a nurse.

Whatever it is Good luck anyway. As for Nursing there is such a shortage of Good Nurses out there and if you get your RN and try for a masters in it the payscale is fantastic. ( depending on where you live) I know NY is paying semi-secent now. Most RN's that work locally make between 24 and 35 dollars an hour ( hospitals and private)

I agree with everyone who says Stay In School... don't despair because it seems boring or useless.... it's not.. in the long run you are better off to be as well educated as you can be and that means graduating from high school is the first important step!!

And that's my 2 cents worth but it's good advice and probably worth more than 2 cents.

I dont see the point of droping out I went this far and I only got alittle longer to go besides I dont like quiting anything.My mom droped out in I think 10th grade to take care or her brothers and sister and she regrates it.My brother also droped out and it seems he is alway quiting a job if he dont like it and it not good for his kids to see that.He is saying its ok to give up if something is hard.There was this girl in school who had all her creadets and she droped out any ways.She only had about 2 mounths to go.

Good for you Kayla!! Glad to hear you feel this strongly about staying in school. That is an excellent attitude and the best one to have... you're right that you don't have that much longer to go and then you'll be off to college.

Yes she will.I know I would.I got a B in votec.That is the Health class I did have a D becouse I was behind on test but I am close to catching up.I find out tomarrow if I beat the other girls at court warming but I dout I would they are populer and I am not.I have to go to a basketball game in get in front of alot of people to fined out.I dont know if I can do that.I get scared in a large group of people.I kind of skiped out of geting my picture in the paper I still got my name in it.If I win I still get my picture in it any ways.

Kayla you sound like such a shy young woman. I was like that in high school and then I took some drama classes and speech classes that helped me overcome my shyness and also helped me to build my confidence and overcome my low self esteem.

It's difficult to overcome shyness but it will benefit you in the long run to develop those skills necessary to build up your self confidence. You are probably just as popular as any of the other girls in your school and you deserve to win Court Warming as much as they do. So don't be shy about putting your picture in the paper and just keep telling yourself that you can do whatever it is you set your heart on ... afterall you must mean something to your other classmates because they nominated you for the position!

I know it's pretty frightening to stand in front of a large group of people and try to be confident and proud but you can do it and you will do it if you want it bad enough. So you keep your head up high and your shoulders back and straight and just keeping telling yourself that you know you can do it.

The guy still picked on me but not as bad.I just talked back.I am not a person to just take something.I think thats makes him more mad.

I am in art club and Fccla and key club.I am not athletic so I am not in any sports.I like to play basketball but I am not good enough to play on a team and the couch is so mean.He gets so mad his face gets red and his vaines pop out of his neck.I thought he was going to have a heart attack the last game.So I am glad I am not on the team.He is always yelling at them even when they are wining by a lot.

The coach sounds like he has the wrong job. It's awful when they get so serious about a game that they go over the deep end.

I remember Key Club too.. it was fun!!! Do you like it? What is FCCLA? I wasn't ever good at sports either or art.

Yes I do like Key club.You get to help other people.Fccla is Family carear community Leaders of America.That is fun.I dont get as much time to be as involve as I want to.I like the clubs.It good to help people.Oh and I am involve in Vica at votec.I love that club.At the end of the year we go to six flags.That is always fun.

I can't handle them either.. fear of heights and motion sickness does me in everytime... Last time I was on one was about 10 years ago and I nearly fainted! It was the worst moments of my life... well close to the worst.

Well, I'm glad that you talked it out. You should always talk things out before you do anything drastic.
When you enter into a relationship it can be scary and you may be afraid of getting hurt, but even though you may be vulnerable the rewards of a good relationshiop far outweigh the risks.
You should never break up with someone just because you are afraid of him doing it first. If people did that there would be no long term realtionships! Just hang in there. And keep on talking!;)

Time dose fly by.I have so many test to take it unbelivable.like almost 30 skills and I have 7 written test to make up and like a hole bunch more coming up.I cant wait to get all these test done.My sister she is like two grades lower then me she brong home one of those babys for baby develoment class.It is so anoying.lol

Kayla, I've seen those baby dolls on a tv documentary and I'll bet it is annoying when it cries in the middle of the night and you're trying to sleep!! Hang in there, hopefully she won't have it too much longer.

That is the hardest part for me.There is so many to get done.That class is so stressfull.

That doll I want to kick it out the door lol.All it dose is cry.If it was real then it dont bother me.I am geting tired of kids all I do is baby sit real and fake.I had to feed the doll becouse Alicia went to the bathroom.I felt really stupid just holding the doll and feeding it.I proberly looked stupid to.lol

We did something like that at school, but we had to carry around an egg all day. It was quite funny because all round school, you could see egg all over the floor! You had to be careful where you stepped! haha. But at least they didn't cry! x

I've seen that kind of things in american series. I didn't know people actually had to do stuff like that! I looks pretty hard to me, although it's only a doll! But it makes good practise!

Oh that must've been a tough assignment to treat an "egg" like a baby... gee didn't it start to smell from broken eggs? LOL

I saw it once on one of tv documentaries and though it's supposed to be a lesson for the child it also is an inconvenience for the family who's exposed to the baby... but just think how much it teaches the kids about parental responsibility???

I think education has come a long ways since I was in high school. They never taught us how to balance checkbooks or how to care for kids! Both would've been valuable school lessons!

It is a good lesson but I am so thinkfull its over.Thank God my sister turned the doll in.I was teasing my sister for talking to it and shhing it.Then she went to the bathroom and I had to watch it.The thang started to cry and I started to shh at it.lol.I had to look so stupid talking to it.When I watch my nephews I talk to them when there fussy and I done that to the doll.

She said she is never having here own baby but I know she just means for now.She want some later on.She already knew what to do to because when I dont baby sit my nephews she dose so we both know how to take care babys.There are time after I baby sit them I think about staying a vergin untell I am pass mitelepalse lol.I know I want kids but after watching my nephews I sometimes rethink it.Alicia dose to.I thought about geting my tube tied lol.I know I could never do that.I want two kids.Alicia at less I know she is waiting awile.I told her if she has any kids any time soon I will kick her and the guy that gave her the kid butts.I asked her if she wanted me to wake her up in the middil of the night like the baby did she said she would hurt me if I did lol.She is so much smaller then me she like 105or something and I am realy over waight just a lot biger then her and I am alot taler then her and it was funny just to hear her saying she is going to hurt me.lol

Hi Kayla.... it sounds like both you and Alicia have your heads on straight when it comes to waiting for the right time to have babies. It's sooooo important that babies be planned and wanted and not the result of an accident, so I am so happy to hear that you both are wise enough to wait.

I bet it did make you laugh and smile to hear Alicia say she would hurt you if you woke her up in the middle of the night. You both are funny.

It is funny.She said she misses the doll and I even have to amit I kind of miss it.lol.I love babys but I want to know I can take care of them.Sometimes I think about not having my own becouse there is such a chanse they would get diabetes.I know it dont realy bother me most the time but sometimes it can be hard.Like its hard to go on a diet becouse every time I cut back on what I eat my blood drops and there is this girl she is actuly biger then me but she makes fun of me any ways and I try my best to not lesson.I dont want my kids to ever have to worry about stuff like that.Then like when I was a elemantry like on christmass or Halloween and stuff that was hard even though I always acted like it did not bother me for a waile it did to know I cant do stuff like that like other kids.Now it dont bother me but if I had kids that something they have to go though.

Someday I want to adopet a down syndomes kid becouse they are so loving and in need of being loved.I like working with this girl at my school with down syndom and I think I learned so much when I work with her.Like pationts with is so inportant.I learned more this year working with her and going to the nursing home.I love helping people but that is almost over now that this year is almost over.I dont know if I can handle not seeing those sweet people this summer.I am thinking of helping with activitys this summer.Even though I will be in collage I figure maybe I can find some time for the friends I made there.

I'm sorry that you have diabetes. My brother has diabetes too and he's had some real health problems because of it. He's already lost some toes and he's blind from it.

And I remember how hard it was for him when he was a school child because there were so many things he couldn't and still can't eat. It was pretty unfair for him but he tries not to complain too much about it. Like he always says "there are people in the world who are worse off than me, so who am I to complain?"

He has a good attitude about life and that's probably what keeps him going.

It sounds like you are the same way Kayla.

I'm glad you have made friends with a young lady with Down Syndrome... I have a friend who's daughter also has it and she is just the sweetest most loving girl you'd ever want to meet. I hate it when kids poke fun at her but she doesn't care, she always runs up to people and hugs them ... she just loves everyone and doesn't realize that people joke about her. I'm glad she doesn't realize it cause I know it would break her heart.

You have a great outlook on life Kayla and it sure sounds like you have a good heart and are very smart!!

I Do love helping people.I also hate when people makes fun of the girl at school.I alway take up for her and any one who cant take up for them selfs.When I hear somone making fun of her I go up to them and say something about how would they like it if somone make fun of them.I say more but I cant say all I say on here.I just get mad when they make fun of people who cant take up for them selfs.I can take up for others more then I do my self.

So she was A big coward after all. The other funny thing about it was I never did A darn thing to her the entire time I was in school with her.

my uncle is ok he is on a diet and has to drink diet 7up becouse there is no caffenee.He also has a bad ear infection.With the medication they gave him he sleeps alot but he is feeling tones better.
With the bully he still picks on me.I dont like people always touching me and he comes behind me and bangs on my back or pulls my poney taile.I got so mad I actully told him if he touch me I will brake his hand ofcourse I wont but I was so mad.

Booper I am so jellouse we only had 4 and a 1/2 days of spring brake.Our school is not realy that fair but we made up for snow days.

Im not a big exam fan! I seem to remember going into the hall with all the knowlege popping out of my head, then when I opened the exam paper, my mind would go blank! Essay questions I could cope with because I am able to ramble on about things, but sort factual questions - no siree! Not my cuppa tea! I'm sure you'll do fine though Kayla! Just make sure you revise before the exams! x

Oh Bexi your discussion about how you deal with exams sure brought back memories to me... I had the same experiences with tests... argh... hated them!! And like you, essays were lots more fun for me than any other kind.

My problem is when my teacher lexter about the test.I zone out and dont hear every thang.I am the kind of person who have to keep moving.Then when we take the test I usely end up with a B or a C.The last few test I got three As and three Cs.The Cs I will have to take over.So thats more work.I did do good on my grade card.I cant belive three weeks befor schools out.I will miss all my friends.Next week we are done with the nursing home.I will miss all the residents.Its easy to get attach.I like it when they want my help I like knowing I am needed.They are so sweet.I like geting to know them.There is alot of nice people who works there to.Some realy cute guys lol.Thats all I think about.I cant belive I am a senior.Its almost over.I am happy but sad becouse all the people I will miss.My friend Kelly she is a year under me said shes going to cry thats going to make me cry.Then there is going across the stage infront of so many people.I have to do that twice becouse the nursing program has there own gradution.I am so nervise.That is the 4th but the stupid thang is we still go after gradution untill the 12th becouse I gradute the 16th again.I hate going infront of so many people.

Hi Kayla... I know what you mean about zoning out during lectures... I had that problem all through school too... especially when the lectures were boring or I was tired.

Gosh 3 more weeks and you'll be a graduate from both high school and your nursing program!! Good for you!! I am so very proud of you!!! Good job!

Don't be scared when you walk across that stage in front of everyone! You hold your head up high and be proud because you've worked so hard to get to this point in your life.

I know you will cry when you leave your friends that are younger than you but hopefully you can still stay in touch.

I was a volunteer at a hospital when I was in high school and I remember getting attached to some of the patients too.

I broke up with Russ.I felt like inconventes to him.I did not like the way that felt.I see him all the time.He lyed about going to the dance with somone else.He said that whaile we were going out that hurt alot.I am geting over that.He turned out to be a jerk.
