i think just any picture of Betty in a heart or red dress can pass off as a valentine picture:)

Not that I know of. I was thinking of taking betty Boop pics ( even some of these avatars would look good. Printing them out then making up my cards or hearts and copying them onto them or using the pics as fronts of the vcards and making up my own. there is a whole world of possibilities. Hey maybe I do know a teeny weeny bit about crafts after all ( refer to my post in polls what contest next lol :)

yep, and because you or someone does something like that it's better than storebought because it's personal. from the heart, it has a lot more meaning. anyone can go out and buy something but if you buy something and use it to make something or just make something yourself it carries a lot more heart.

i agree..... i always say that i prefer things form the heart than from the store:D :D
its always better to recieve those types of things(in my opinion):D

Hey Bupadup that was a great idea your mom had for your b-day!! that's pretty unique.
Something else I like to do for my mom and other family members is give them paper hearts with IOU's on it... like if they need me to help them do something, they just slip me one of the IOU requests.. things like making dinner or helping with housework. Works great!!!

It's always worked for me... especially when I was younger and didn't have a way to go shopping or was too busy with school. I'd make up the IOU hearts and give them to my mom and my sis and offer to do more chores...... it really can be fun.. sometimes they were just fun ones too... for example a HUG IOU.... and you'd be surprised how many times my mom or sis handed me a hug IOU cause they just needed a hug once in a while... pretty cool idea don't you think?

Hmmm 10eke.... made me wonder what your IOU's would say... he hehe.... giving them to your husband or boyfriend can be a lot more romantic then the ones you'd give to your mom or sister or friends.. ha ha....
When I make Don's lunch to take to work with him, I tuck notes inside and always try to say something good or make a date with him .. if I don't put the note in, he lets me know that he missed it that day. He keeps all the notes and cards and letters that I've written to him from day one... I have done the same with his stuff too.

My boyfriend has to go to hospital for examination at the end of march. I hope it's nothing too serious... I would make him IOU notes for hugs in bad times I guess...

Oh my 10eke... I certainly hope and pray that it is nothing serious too. Please keep us posted and yes I think notes would be really helpful for when he's in the hospital. Will he be there long?
My dad was in the hospital once and I made him a hospital apron... don't laugh.. it worked great... I took an apron and filled the pockets with disposable razor, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc... so that when he hobbled to the shower he didn't have to worry about dropping his stuff... he just slipped the apron over his head and hobbled on his way. He was hospitalized for several weeks recovering from a bad auto accident.

I enjoyed Valentines Day. I got my 2 sweethearts ( my wife and 15year old daughter) a dozen roses ( deep red) and made them each 1 lb of Chocolate covered strawberries. My youngest daughter I got a Valentine Barbie, A yellow, red white and pink rose and a lb of regular strawberries. I also got my teenager a little beenie baby-I get her one every year--(each year on a different holiday.) They were all overjoyed and had a blast. I also made dinner of Steak, baked potatoes, corn and brocolli. It made a nice finish to a nice day :)
