Sitcoms and the end of.......!

Ok....why do they do this to us? All American sitcoms are finishing at the same time! The last EVER series of 'Friends' starts in england on Thursday....whatever will we do when it ends?
'*** and the City' is also coming to an end.......whatever will we do? 'Dawsons Creek' ended not long a go......! I'm just grateful that 'Charmed' is still going strong - the end of that would be the end of the world!

Ok, so I realise that this need for sitcoms sounds a bit geeky, but these are tv programmes that have been part of my life for a long time.....Friends started when I was 10 years old y'know! Yup, 10 years a go! So how does everyone else feel about end of sitcoms as we know them?!

:( :( I am so sad that Friends is going off the air now after 10 years. I have been watching this show from the very beginning I'm really going to miss it. But they are selling each season on DVD now so maybe I'll buy A few seasons.:D

Well between my house mate and myself, we have most of the series now on video, but it's just not the same really - knowing that there will never be any new ones to follow.......:( :( Oh well, I'm sure we'll cope....!

I like Friends and am sorry to see them retiring but they are all rich and happy and off to better things (probably movies). Seems nothing lasts forever. Even Frazier is going to call it quits.

I'm not really big on sitcoms, I'm a movie buff myself but I hated it when Buffy the Vampire slayer ended ( I'm in the process of collecting all the episodes for all the seasons, I love charmed and would hate to see it end but otherwise except fot stargate sg3 on Sfi-Fi channel I don't watch sitcoms and refuse to watch slop-operas

Did you know the friends-cast is getting together for a special thanksgiving diner, where they talk about their carreers after they 'split up' As Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe and Ross, I mean... So we know what happened to them. Ain't that sweet! It's nice for their fans!

Yeah I heard about that. Apparently they're filming it now but they're not going to show it for about 12 months. It will be really good! x

:eek: Oh I want that Friends DVD collection!!! I was also sad when Buffy The Vampire ended, my husband got me into that show. Then he got me into watching Angel which I still do. I am now watching Smallville thatnk's to him. Don't get me wrong they are great shows though.

My husband doesn't like the show because I think it makes him feel uncomfortable but I like it... In fact, I watched it last night and they took a grubby looking guy and made him over and his teenage daughter cried when she saw him. He looked 100 years younger when they were done cutting his hair and shaving off his facial hair.. it was great.

I think most gangster shows and shoot em up shows appeal more to men than they do women. I like some action shows but usually would rather watch a good comedy or musical or love story... ah yes.. typical woman right?

There's nothing wrong with that Bikerbetty! I love watching that type of film too! I usually fall asleep during gangster films. My ex boyfriend made me go to the cinema to see terminator III and I was soooo bored! I agreed to go because I had taken him to see loads of girly films and felt sorry for him! haha x

I haven't seen Road to Perdition but I really like Tom Hanks too. I loved him in the movie where he gets stranded on the island... I forgot the name of it but it was a good movie... I also loved him in Toy Story!!! And of course all the films he made with Meg Ryan!! Those are great movies too. He's just an all around good actor... He was good in the movie with Sally Field (who played his mom) I love Sally Field too!

I work at a discount store now. They sell lots of things, clothes, soap, office-things, even fryingpans at the mo! It's hard, because there are always lots of people in, but I like it.

Where I live it's still dark and grey, I haven't spotted any flowers yet...

I think you already asked me about windmills some time ago, but yes we still have some in our neighbourhood. Some farmers use wooden shoes, and they sell lots in Amsterdam for tourists... But not in regular shoe shops...

Oh I also know what it's like to work in retail it's not easy. I worked in A grocery store for 13 years and I also had to stand on my feet all day. There were day's when I just went home and collasped on the couch from my legs and feet hurting so bad.:(

i have outgrown the sleep walking thing.. just everynow and then i have episodes. like a couple of years ago oin holiday my mam said i woke up in the middle of the night and strted throwing my bed cover's off my bed and looking under the bed! when she asked me what i was doiong i said 'i'm looking for my nighty! (nightgown). then she told me i had it on but i just looked at her like she was stoopid and sai 'NO! no this one, the one with the long sleeves and BB on!' hehe! then i climbed back into bed and went to sleep! the next morning i thought i had a good night's sleep but then she told me what i did! :P suppose i'm just as bossy in my sleep as i am awake! :P hehe

:( :( Well since this thread is started as end of A sitcome. My favorite show is going off the air too ANGLE, with James Marsters (what A hottie) and David Borianez. This was A spin off show of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It was announced that this is the last season.:( :(
