:D I was wondering if anyone out there has ever dressed up like betty for a costume party. It would be interesting it hear about how extensive some costumes were or just simple. :cool:

For my 21st I had a costume party, with a Cult Cartoon Theme, which I had specifically chosen so I could dress up as Betty Boop. My costume consisted of a wig, which was specially styled, so I would look like Betty. I had a red strapless dress, which I made for the occasion, red shoes, with feathers, hooped earings and a bracelet.

The dress was easy to create because I used an old bra to hold up the costume, and created the pattern, from scratch. It helps sometimes to be a trained costumer. :)

Hi,

I dressed up as Betty Boop for Halloween one year. I actually used a red dress that was made for me to wear in a pageant...lol...come to think of it, I must have had Betty on my mind because it was a little out there...and it had ruffles on the trim and the skirt was long, except the front was cut out in a U-shape where my legs were exposed and it was total Betty gear. I threw a very, very short curly-haired wig on and I actually had a Betty Boop pen that was on a string that I wore around my neck and where she was wearing an identitical outfit as me, in case people were unsure who I was. They totally knew regardless. Oh, and I wore a garter on my leg, of course.
It was fun. I wouldn't be able to get into that dress now if I tried, but I still have it... :D

No I haven't, but I've tried last year for Halloween but waited too long and couldn't find the right type of wig. :(

This year I'll be getting a head start and hopefully I can find what I need by Halloween.

Concerning wigs, I'm not sure how the costume shops run where you are, but you might be able to go into a large one and ask them if they will style a wig in Betty's style. :)

Thanks for the advice. I just recently found a large all wigs store not far from my neighborhood. I just wish I knew about it earlier.

Maybe it would be a good idea afterall...to get each Boopers email addy...so they can be contacted and invited back to the forum to chat with other Boopers or for contests and prize drawings or whatever...and in showing them we care about them.

A Moderator would be the contact person who would take the initiative to contact these people...and offer a FREE BB gift after they've had 300 postings or something.

It should be that Email addys can be collected behind the scenes...by Mature Moderators ONLY...and then deleted if necessary.

You first...need to LOOK somewhat like betty for it to be obvious that what you're wearing coincides with her.

Otherwise...what's the point?

I use to have shorter hair and I kept some curls in it and of course it is black.
People would tell me that I should dress up like Betty because I sorta resembled her.
But no, I have never dressed like Betty!
