I really appreciate that you are on your job. Keeping the threads clean and inviting to children too. I have visited some threads that have gone off the deep end. There's all kind of filth and trash lurking around...and the worst part...it's tolerated!
You're On It!!

I am go glad you all keep an eye on the content and behavior on this message board. I use to go to A Marilyn site that had A message board but I quit going because the people were saying nasty things on there and being mean to each other it's no fun when it's like that. At least here everyone is friendly, and nice and has nice language.:D

The big difference is this is a legit site from King Features & Fleischer Studios, while most other forums are owned & operated by fans.

Hi Jenny that is really good news about you getting to talk to your husband. That is like an early Valentine's Day gift isn't it? I know it must be so difficult being so far away from him.
I remember when my husband was in Viet Nam it was so terrible knowing that he was in harm's way everyday. We would write letters and it would take 2 weeks to get to him or hear back from him. I wrote to him everyday. I was in college and I used to write a lot to him in class.. in fact, sometimes I missed taking notes because I'd be writing to him instead.
He had a lot of friends and I'd get them to write in my note book to him too. He got a kick out of that!! He said it helped to hear from his high school buddies and family and friends and sometimes people won't take time to write unless you put the pen and paper in front of them... so it worked out pretty good in class to have friends drop him a note or two.
I meant to tell you earlier that I appreciated your order.. it went out a few days ago so you should have it soon. Thank you so very much for your support of our business.
I keep you and your husband in my prayers. Believe me I remember how much I worried and how I counted the days and then hours and then minutes til he was back home again.
God bless you and your husband for supporting our country. I am very proud of both of you!!! Thank you for your love of country and mankind!!!

xxx Oh BikerBetty your going to make me cry:( Thank you for your support it means alot to me and my hubby. Yea I know things have changed alot since Vietnam and technoligy has changed alot since but I still feel for all the past soldiers who served in the previous wars and it is tough not just on them but for the families as well. I love your website, I could have bought up everything on there but I have to have some restraint:P But don't worry I will be back on there doing some more shopping. I see the news everyday and It just breaks my heart to hear about another soldier injured or killed over there, but I am also very proud of them for what they are doing for our country. I'm one of the lucky ones my husband is in A safe area out there and I do have communication with him on A daily basis where alot of those soldiers don't have communication to home. Trust me when I find out he is coming home you all will be one of the first to find out. Thank you again for being my friends through all of this. GOD BLESS!!!!:D
Bikerbettyboop
02-03-2004, 06:56 PM
I'm so glad to hear that you get to communicate with him on a daily basis. Isn't technology wonderful?
I hate to see on the news that the suicide bombers are still taking people's lives over there in Iraq. It is sad and I'll be glad when it is over with and our troops can be home for good.
We pray for them every single day and night. I am so proud to know that you and your husband are in the military. Is he in the Army or Marines or ???
JennyBoop
02-03-2004, 07:01 PM
My husbands in the Illinois National Guard, he does the communications/signal. Which means he supplies communication for all the soldiers over there basically. He's been in the military 19 years he's up for retirement here soon though and he wants to get out.:) I'm very proud of him as you can tell by how much I talk about him (sorry for that:o ) I'm proud of all the soldiers serving our country from the cooks all the way up to top brass.:D
Bikerbettyboop
02-03-2004, 07:30 PM
You have every right to be proud of your husband for not only what he does for the state of Illinois but also for our country and for you! He sounds like a fine up standing young man and I'll bet he is ready to retire. Don't blame him one bit for that sentiment!!
Give him our regards... tell him all the Betty Boopers are real proud of him and his service to our nation!!

Wow what a handsome man your husband is Jenny!!! No wonder you miss him so much, I would too if my husband was away from me. I know it must be sooooo hard having him away for so long.
My husband and I have only spent 1 night apart in the past 9 1/2 years... and that's when I took my motorcycle training class down in Phoenix. Boy did I miss him then! We called each other about 10 times just in that one night! It's sure nice to be in love, isn't it?

Yea he has to go back to Fort Reily Kansas first, then he will be coming home. But the good new's is I might be able to go up and see him in Kansas. Now I got some sad news, I was chatting with my hubby today and he told me our friend JIM is now over in Iraq in A not so nice place over there. I talked with Jim A few week's ago and he said he was going over, but he was being sent to A not so nice place over there. He is full active duty military in the Air Force. Jim say's he is only going to be over in Iraq unitl June but that of course can alway's change for him. I told him to be safe over there, if he get's A chance to send me an email to let me know he is alright. Man I will be glad when all the soldiers come home.:( I just count my blessings everyday that my husband's in A safe area out there and he will be coming home real soon. Yea we havn't had good luck with Valentines day these past three years. One year my hubby's teeth hurt so bad, trust me not A romantis night. Then last year he got activated for duty and then this year for Valentines day he was in Iraq, but did get to chat with him in instant message. BikerBetty it has to get better:( I know it will though whe he get's home he is home for good. Yea he feel's really bad that he wasn't home for our 1 year wedding anniversary, he feel's bad because he wasn't home for my birthday last year and it's looking like he won't be home for this years birthday in April. I tell him time and time again that we couldn't help what happened, and that we have A lifetime together to make up for it. He say's he is really going to make it up to me when he get's home. I told him you just being home is enough for me.:)

We're a singing bunch aren't we? LOL.
Speaking of singing.. I'm listening to a new cd I just got from my in-laws... they sing old time gospel.
Did you ever see Oh Brother Where Art Thou?

Is there any way to get MORE emoticons? Different expressions and even animated would be nice.

That would need to be answered by MGCHAN because he is the administrator.
