Don't get me started on valentines day! I ususally spend the day a shrivelled wreck! haaha! Nah, i'm only joking. It's usually a girly night - although looks like I might be on my tod this year as most of the girls have partners now! Yup, I'm living the single life alone! :) xx

Bexi there is still time to find a new beau in time for Valentine's day... or better yet find 3 or 4 and let them smother you with goodies!!!

BBooper

i don't like valentines, no-one loves me in that kinda way so i usually go out to my friends and we watch sloppy films in her room with lots of chilled drinks and POPCORN!!!

Kayla you should do like BBooper does... go to the movies with your friends and have fun!!!

My husband always gives me a nice card but I told him "no candy and no flowers" I'm on a diet!!! A nice dinner and movie would be just fine for me!!! oh and something with Betty Boop on it too!!

A friend of mine sent me a Betty Boop wristband and I wear it when I ride my motorcycle. It's neat!

I've been thinking about a valentine's present for my bf. Not too expensive... Any ideas?

The guys that I have been out with would settle for a cold 6 pack of beer and an action movie on valentines day! What kind of things is your bf into 10eke? xx

movies, and eh... movies? that's his hobby. Watching and buying dvds. but most of the titles he wants are quite expensive!

Hmmm........that's a difficult one then if your on a tight budget. If he's into his movies, you could get a framed print of his favourite one. You can get some really nice prints off the internet. It's different I guess. Not particularly exciting though. I just happen to really like film posters. I think they can look really smart in a clip frame on your wall......! Good luck :D x

Kayla... I'm not a size 2 either. When I was growing up our church wouldn't allow women to wear pants either but then they finally changed and said it was acceptable for women to wear them.. just not jeans.

That's an excellent suggestion BBooper!!!

Kayla, you can have your mom help you make some skirts for you. They are much easier to sew than pants... I won't tell you about the time I made pants... ha ha.. they turned out worse than yours....

Kayla

I dont know if that is posible.

Bikerbettyboop
01-22-2004, 04:29 PM
Believe me when I first started sewing it seemed like everything I made just looked terrible. But with patience and practice, my sewing steadily improved. You just need to find some fabric and start sewing. Eventually you will be good at it.

Kayla you just have to be patient and don't get frustrated. Just relax and take your time and have fun. Once you get the hang of it, you'll find out that you really enjoy it.

If MGCHAN and I can do it, you can do it too!!

I am not a pationt person but I dont give up.

Bikerbettyboop
01-23-2004, 01:59 PM
Not giving up is probably the key words here. And don't be frustrated if it doesn't look perfect to you when you first start. Just keep practicing.

Is your mom a good seamstress? Does she enjoy sewing? I'll bet she's willing to help you learn to sew too.

Kayla
01-23-2004, 07:13 PM
Yes she use to like sewing. She has not sewed in a long time. She use to do it when we could not pay for clothes.

Bikerbettyboop

Perhaps she could help you with some sewing projects... perhaps start with some easy things instead of clothes... maybe some home craft projects.

Kayla

Kayla, I made two placemats over the weekend. They didn't come out perfect but I think they are cute. My mom said it looked like my first home economics project from high school and we laughed. I'll take pictures and post it here.

I made the placemats from some fabric scraps that I had left from Biker Betty Boop bandanas... not perfect but good enough for me.

It all takes practice and if it doesn't come out great, so who cares? At least it's something you made by yourself for yourself. That's what I always tell myself anyway... makes the mistakes easier to accept... ha ha.
