You can post anything you like lilbetty! You'll soon feel as though you know us all! Some of us have been posting for a while now and have built up friendships though our posts - keep posting and I'm sure you'll have no problem fitting in! I think most of us are such chatterboxes, there's no shutting us up! :D xx

Oh, I'm sure we have many.....
When two people are chatting or gossiping, they are "chewing the fat."
Or if they are having small talk they are "shooting the breeze".

I've heard of 'chewing the fat' but not 'shooting the breeze'. Do you say ' having a natter?' As if there's so many ways to say 'talking' hehe! x

Yes, chatterbox is very common.....

natter is chatting, i suppose it's just slang or shorter for chatter.
the north east of England, especially Newcastle and it's Geordie slang, is famous for it's slang! :P

When you said ma.. I was thinking that was slang for mom (what I call my mother because it sounds more endearing than mother) anyway.. you call your mom .. mum.... don't you?

BBooper
02-11-2004, 04:54 PM
yer, here in England it's mum, but i think it's a north east thing and i call her mam, most people do up here :) my older brother call's her ma.. i think it sounds awful!(">)

My brother calls my mom "ma" too... I think he did it to be ornery.
