Whenever you e-mail a thread to a friend and they become a new member of the Betty Boop forum, you will receive 'Referral Points.'

Once a month we'll feature the Top 5 (or 10!) members with the most 'Referral Points' for the month. We'll give a prize each month to the member with the most points for that month. In the event of a tie between two (2) members, both will get the same prize. When there is a tie involving more than two (2) members, the winner will be chosen randomly. At the end of the year, we'll pick the member with the most 'Referral Points' for the year!

So... since we're halfway through February, we'll announce the Top 5 members on April 1 and pick the February/March winner!

that's a good idea, but it will be difficult to me to find a BB fan friend who would both speak enough english and have the net !!!! We are like prehistorical age in Besancon !!!!!!!!!!! most of people think the net is expensive and useless (I changed my mind !!!!!!!!!!!!!!) anyway I knew a few BB fans and they all support the site saying I am lucky to be able to talk to so many BBfans !

How do you email an thread to a friend? How do you know they that they became a member? I already emailed the forum website to a lot of fans.

At the bottom, select Email this Page. Whenever anyone responds to the e-mail and decides to become a member, you get a referral credit.

I will post more details on this for all.

Thanks so much for the info on emailing a page. I didn't realize that feature was already part of the page. Sorry for my oversight.

I guess I'm still confused about how the referral system works.

Here's where you can read more about referrals, how to obtain your referral number and to view the number of referrals by you.

http://www.bettyboop.com/forums/misc.php?s=&action=faq&page=2#referrals

The referral number shown is your referral ID. For example 'referrerid=3' is my referral ID:

http://www.bettyboop.com/forums/index.php?referrerid=3

Here's the same link without showing the URL code:
Betty Boop Forums (http://www.bettyboop.com/forums/index.php?referrerid=3)

I will be credited with 1 referral point anytime anyone clicks on any link and joins the BB forums. Additionally a new member can also enter your user name in the referrer box.

Selecting Profile will show the number of referrals by you. Clicking on your member name, anywhere in the forums, will also bringup your profile.
