Been collecting BB since I was about 12 when my best friend in the 7th grade had to move across the country and he gave me my first BB keychain. It is shaped like a heart! I think it's Great that the younger Generation has learned the values that are taught by our Betty Boop ;) :)
I do think it's fantastic that the younger generations are finding Betty Boop as irrisistable as we of the older generations have found her to be. This means that at least in my lifetime and theirs, that Betty won't slide into obscurity. She will be around forever ( Ihope)!!! :D

Oh she's pretty special to me and my family. She's my mom's mother and a real sweetheart. My great, great grandmother and her sister's were all over 100 when they passed on, so I'm hoping that my grandmother lives longer than all of them did.

The only real problems she is having is not seeing as well as she used to... but none of her aunts or her mother ended up in nursing homes. I'd like to have her come live with me but she says she likes living in Tucson where it is warmer.

I have 2 male cousins who help take care of her but I still wish I was closer to her. We do talk on the phone often.

I haven't seen that cartoon.

I think it's great that you WANT to help her and take care of her. My wife is a Vent certified CNA who works in a nursing home. She says it's terrible how many patients never have anyone come and see them.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and good thoughts about my grandmother. I'll post a picture of her here soon.

She does have a lot of good stories and so did my great grandmother .... she traveled by horse back, carriage, stage coach, train, bus, ship and plane!!!

My grandmother is a hoot!! She goes to church regularly and also volunteers at the local "old folks home" as she calls it... funny thing is most of the people there are younger than her!! HA!

She did have a 79 year old boyfriend but he just passed away due to cancer. She misses him terribly. But she stays active and that's what is important. Plus she never smoked or drank and was very active in her church.

She stopped driving years ago and the highlight of their time together was going to church, eating out almost all their meals, visiting family and friends and they liked to travel.

They've been to Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, Germany, France and everywhere in between!!! They had a great time together and she really misses him a lot. She really missed him during the holidays.

Oh I forgot to mention this important thing... she has always been old fashioned and prim and proper and they always had seperate hotel rooms when they traveled. And they never lived together either... he had his home and she had hers.

Yes they were very good friends and she does miss him. My grandfather passed away in 1975 and she never re-married but has had a couple boyfriends since then but they passed away too. I don't think she'll have another boyfriend... but who knows.

You bet i have Biker. the time difference is making it a bit hard though as the finals held in the evening in Greece is about 2:30am here. But i love the Games and this year has been very exciting with many surprise outcomes and firsts etc. Did you see the basketball game last night between the Aust Boomers and the USA dream team. What a match - although we didn't win we certainly tried and the 1st half was very exciting.

ok i'll try to get some to show you. I have 2 of these now one as described above and the other is BB classic red dress pose. sooooooooo cute. they are about 15cm tall and look great hanging on the wall behind the rest of my collection. The lady that sold them to me also has a LIFE size one but its a bit too pricey. she has tons of other goodies also and she is in my local area which is the best part.
