Good thinkin Batman! You realise you're gonna become the resident dream woman!
Ok, I once had a dream that absolutely petrified me beause it was just so vivd and realistic. I felt sick for the whole day when I woke up.
Basically, I knew that I was asleep, but I was aware that I was sleep walking (although I wasn't, I just thought I was), and I walked outside. What was weird was that I could feel the cold air on my skin, which is why I was so convinced that this was actaully happening, and that I just couldn't wake myself up. Then I heard an almighty bang, and could feel myself flying through the air - basically I had been run over, but there was no pain, just a weird sense of being thrown cos it got colder. Then I opened my eyes, thinking that I had actually woken myself up, and was lying in the road with my mum looking down at me. I was trying to tell her that I was ok, but nothing was coming out, and I could feel myself drifting into unconciousness.
It was the scariest dream I've ever had. Its so difficult to explain,, but I was sure it was all real until I woke up and found myself safe in bed.
So....analyse that then!! haha! Not sure where to start with that one I bet. I have plenty more weird dreams, but I think I'll leave you with that one for now! xxxxxxxx

Hey that sounds very scary! I hate dreams like that!
I had a very wierd scarey dream about two years ago. You ever see the movie The Exorcist? I saw the movie and read the book and it still scares me and creeps me out.
Well, in one dream I was posessed by an evil entity, perhaps the Devil, perhaps something else, but I remember that this thing would take control of my body and I was helpless with how it was making me behave. In real life I try to behave with manners and be considerate to others, but in the dream the evil spirit was making me behave badly, and I had absolutely no control. It was making me say cruel and evil things and making me do rude things and making me do mean things like punching and kicking people. I couldn't stop it. Then I encountered my sister who lived with me at the time and it was saying cruel things to her with my voice. I kept trying to interject my own words to try to clue her in that I was in trouble and it was not me speaking. I'd get a word of my own out from time to time. But she wasn't getting it and was becoming very angry. Then the demon was using my body to hit her. I tried to scream"No!" but nothing would come out. I kept trying and trying in my dream until I actually forced a scream out of my throat for real which woke me up. It was the weirdest thing. It was very unsettling and I stayed up for a couple of hours because I couldn't go back to sleep right away. It was very frightening. And in trying to scream I was pulling the muscles in my throat and ended up being very hoarse the next day.
Pretty bizarre, huh?
Well, as far as I could figure, the dream was all about control. I was going through a tough period in my life about that time and perhaps I was feeling like I was overwhelmed and I had no control over my own life.... I'm not sure if the dream book covers this one. And I think the movie and book kind of influenced this one. I'm not sure if I would have dreamed it this way if I hadn't had the concept presented to me by these.
O.k. Well, I think that this was probably one of the weirdest dreams I ever had....
Take it easy you Boopers! I can't wait to see what other stories come out of this thread!

Oooooooooh, that doesn't sound like a happy dream! Dreams are weird - as are things that some people do in their sleep. I watched a tv programme not long ago about people's sleeping habits, it was so funny. One girl got out of bed, and started wiping her wall with toilet roll! Hmmmm strange!
A couple of years a go I was sleeping in my mum's room and apparently I sat up, picked up the telephone and said 'hello? Oh ok then. Love you, bye'! The phone hadn't been ringing, I just thought it had - I have no idea who I was speaking to though!! Its a strange ole thing!!

Oh my! That is strange...
People can do strange things when they are sleeping, that's for sure. I am told that sometimes I talk in my sleep.... I hope I don't give away any secrets when I do that!!!
Also lately I've been accused of taking all of the covers, lumping them in a ball, and tossing them on the floor. Me? I just can't imagine, but he says it's true.... lol!
Sweet dreams Boopers!

Me and my boyfriend Danny both talk in our sleep. Nothing serious, just one sentence or so. But his cousin...! Him and Danny usually go to see an uncle on Friday's, and the cousin falls asleep at some point, and Danny can ask all sorts of things and his cousin answers, in his sleep!!

Hmmm...yeah I've been known to elbow people in the head whilst asleep, but generally I'm quite a quiet, still sleeper. Once I'm asleep, its very difficult to wake me up! Although my kitten has got it down to a fine art - I think she thinks she's a dog as she wakes me up every morning by licking my face!

Hair
often a symbol of vanity, long hair may also express a womans powerful sense of her own femininity
*trys to say femininity but comes out fem.. fem ninnnity* :P
To dream oneself with a shaven hedmay indicate a sense of disempowerment.

i had a REALLY weird dream last night!
i went on holiday and there was this tudor house, and everytime you went near the house a great big green, plant root like thing grew and tried to get you. it nearly got me but my dad leaped and got hold of my before it could. the next morning everyone took it in turn to run in the house, make breakfast and run back out, but it got my sister, then this weird man came out holding my sister, he had rescued her!!! it was really weird. then the plant turned into a man, so me and my mam were throwing bouncy balls off him, because the acid spray my mam had invented didn't work on him! so, everytime one hit him he was injured. then he started throwing them back at me. and i ducked. then i woke up!!
It was sooooooooooooooooo weird! you guys probably think im really strange, but hey! i don't controll my dreams! :P

Yeah, Kayla. The scariest dreams are the ones that feel so real. The ones where you have to take a hard look around youy to make sure of where you are when you wake up and realize that your experience was only a dream... Funny, but it seems that the scariest dreams are like that...somehow when I have a very nice pleasant, very lovely dream, somehow I am aware that it is only a dream.....

well i always dream about my boyfriend but thats pretty normal knowing the amount i miss him and that he isnt here. when hes with me i dont dream about him that much but i know hes there, hes always there somewhere. i HATE having scary dreams. i used to have a reaccouring dream where my whole family and the world got turned into aliens and i was with my half brother, the one person i thought i could trust and he was turned into an alien too, i was alone and trying not to get caught and it was really scary. being in mind i was about 7 when i first had the dream :-S

my sister and I are a year apart and we shared the same bedroom all the time we were growing up. We had one brother and he had his own bedroom of course.. he was the baby and terribly spoiled....
anyway, when I'd have a bad dream as a kid, my sis would come over and wake me up and tell me it was ok and she'd sit with me til I went back to sleep and I did the same thing for her!!!
We are still best of friends today over 50 years later!!!
So sometimes a hug from a sister or brother is almost as good as getting one from your mom!! Don't you agree?
bexi3
11-13-2003, 11:40 AM
Yeah - I agree. I miss my big sister. She lives about 100 miles away and I only get to see her maybe 4 or 5 times a year. She has a very busy job, and even when she does come to visit, it can only be short visits. I'm gonna try and drive down to where she lives soon - but I don't like driving on the motorway, so I have to get over that fear first!
But yes, sisters are a close second to parents!

When Don and I moved here to Northern Arizona from Las Vegas in 1998, we decided that we wanted room to stretch out... so we bought 15 acres and we gave my mom 2 1/2 acres and she moved up here from Tucson, Arizona.
My sister came to visit us shortly thereafter (she lived in So. California at the time) and she fell in love with this area and she and her husband convinced Don and I to sell them 2 1/2 acres next to mom....
So you guessed it... I have both my mom and my sister as next door neighbors... them and horses and cattle... cause we are surrounded by open range and cattle ranchers!!!
But it's nice having them close (most of the time it's nice.. ha ha)

Hmmm......I shouldn't read too much into it 10eke - I had a dream over the weekend that I got back together with my ex. I hadn't been thinking about him at all so it was totally random, and there is absolutely no chance of me getting back together with him after that whole malarky! All I felt in my dream was huge regret for taking him back! I think maybe if someone was a big part of your life in the past they'll probably be in the back of you mind for a while even if you don't want them to be and thats why they pop up in your dreams every so often.

Ok, here's an odd one.......
So Michael Jackson was one of these illusionists (like David Blaine) who decided that he was going to attempt to throw Uri Gellar off a suspension bridge, for him to land on a small square a couple of feet below. This bridge was as high as an aeroplane would go - so it was pretty tall! As he threw him off the bridge, he landed partly on the square, but stumbled and fell - this is when I woke up! I seriously felt sick about this dream. I have no idea where it came from but I couldn't go to sleep until I could conciously come up with some way that Uri Gellar would escape that unharmed. In the end I decided that to do that kind of stunt, they would have to have given him a parachute just incase. I was then able to go back to sleep. It was weird.
Later that night I dreamt that I was trapped in the smallest elevator ever! Now that was horrible! I woke up all hot and I couldn't breathe! Not a good nights sleep at all! x

What's in the dreambook about falling? Falling but never hitting the ground?
bexi3
01-26-2004, 06:53 AM
Supposedly, if you dream about falling, but wake up with a start before you reach the bottom, it means that you are between concious and unconciousness which is why you are able to wake up the way that you do with that kind of dream. Your heart apparently skips a beat which also wakes you up with a start. There is more to it that that, but I don't have the book to hand....it's all very interesting! I'll look it up and get back to you! x

livingbooper
01-27-2004, 12:47 AM
I don't think a dream can cause you to die. I would need to get out a dream book, but falling does represent something. It's like a symbol of what is bugging you.
I used to date a guy with sleep apnia. It is actually a physiological disorder. There is a flap of skin that has grown over the windpipe and when the person lies down and starts drifting off to sleep, the breathing changes and the flap of skin intereferes, blocks the passageway, cuts off the air, and wakes the sleeper. These poor people can never get a good nights sleep. They wake up gasping for air. People suffering from this also snore something ferocious!!!! The sleep interuptions of the afflicted also affect the sleep of anyone who is with them....
There is surgery available to remove the flap, but it is very painful. And my ex-boyfriend knew someone who went through all of that, the pain and rehabilitation, only to have the flap grow right back.

Hi Kayla:
I sleep walk when I'm under a lot of stress and it scares me not knowing what I can do. When I was in college my roommates told me that I would open all the windows in the bedroom. The funny thing about it was that when I got up I'll start asking who open those windows (everyone that walked outside could see us). I also gave my son a bottle of milk (after warming it), and in the morning I was bragging how he slept the whole night. Imagine if I would off heated the milk to much. Hope you don't keep doing it.

Well, I hope that your bf learned his lesson. That wasn't very nice, and if you are having problems breathing you need help opening your breathing passages, not restricting them.
Snoring is caused by different things.
One of my sisters had enlarged adnoid galnds and she snored lie a buzzsaw. I guess it was a big enough problem to where my mother took her to the doctor. (I had to sleep in the same room with her.) She had her tonsils and adenoids removed and the snoring stopped....

01-28-2004, 02:31 AM
Wow! It sounds like you have some real sleep problems. I sometimes have a hard time sleeping when I am worrying about things and my brain won't shut up. I sometimes get insomnia. Then, when I finally get to sleep, I don't want to get up in the morning. I hate that. Makes me very tired. I used to do crossword puzzles to make myself get weary enough to drift off to sleep, but now I just get online and surf a bit.
That's why I am on so late when I post here.:) And sometimes I can catch my UK friends online!;)
I hope that things get better for you and that you can relax enough to get some more sleep. It is very important. The body heals itself when it is in deep sleep. And I know that you need all the help that you can get.;)

I had such a weird dream! I had a dream about a male friend of me. People around always suspected him of being gay. And last night I dreamt he was admitting that! And he acts as if he is the biggest ladiesman in Holland! How weird is that??

Hmmm.... I guess that's kind of strange.
Had you talked to someone recently about that? Perhaps it was just on your mind????

No, it's been months when I've seen him for the last time (he's moved) And I can't remember the last time I talked about him...

Whoa... that is odd....
What do you think about him?
Sometimes when I start thinking about someone out of the blue it's like they are making themselves aware in my mind when something is happening to them. I do that with a girlfriend of mine... I think of her and I find out later that something was up....
Perhaps he's not settling into his new place very well???

It is odd when we think of people we haven't seen or heard from in a long time. Often makes me wonder what prompted those thoughts or dreams.

oh! BTW...do you play any instruments??
Bikerbettyboop
12-15-2004, 12:14 PM
Yep... I play guitar.... I have one acoustic, two electric and one bass guitar.
My husband and I have a small band. We play private parties. No bars! I hate smokey bars!
My husband is the true musician in the family though. I've only been playing for about 8 years so I'm still a struggling novice. But he's been playing for over 40 years and he's very good!!

Oh yes!! I hate that!!
Almost everynight when I am falling asleep, I have the same "mini-dream".
I am walking down a sidewalk and my foot falls of the side and I start to fall off. I try to stop myself and I always wake myself up because I jerk in bed, thinking I am falling out of my bed.
My husband always wakes up and asks "Did you fall off the sidewalk again?"
LOL!!
