Hi Jenny87, I see no one has replied to your question, so I'll start. I first saw a Betty Boop cartoon on a PBS weekend show called Matinee at the Bijou, back in the 80's, It was an 1 1/2 hour show where they would start with a cartoon, have a serial chapter and finish with a B picture. I first saw 'Betty Boop's Rise to Fame' on it, and I was hooked. I'm a huge fan of the music from the 30's, and Betty cartoons have some great songs in them, especially the ones in which she sings. It would be hard to pick one all time favorite, since they all are great, at least up till the later ones when her style changed.

The first time I ever saw a Betty Boop cartoon was when I was 10 or 11 years old, and living in Maracaibo, Venezuela. They had Betty Boop cartoons on TV in Spanish! They showed mostly the later ones, with Pudgy. Being a 10 year old boy, I hated them! They were cute, and dumb! That was in 1959.
Then, when I was a freshman in college, in 1966, or 67, I saw Betty Boop's Snow White projected on a big screen in a campus auditorium. It was the most amazing cartoon I had ever seen! And, I still think so today, even though I have seen a lot more animation, including lots of wonderful independent animation.

My first BB cartoon was Poor Cinderella in a Cinderella theme VCR tape. It had like two Cinderella cartoons (Coach for Cinderella and a pink version of BB Poor Cinderella) and this cartoon about a little boy into trains.
I was like two or three I think and the video came with a little doll

I agree grampys cartoons had alot of spice in them with the dancing and his creations. before grampy appeared, Betty and her friends Koko the clown and Bimbo the musical Dog used to make they're own Crazy inventions. I think grampy was one of max fleischer's favourite characters Becuse they were like both inventors in some way or form. well me personally i would have to say Silly Scandals (1931) was one of my favourite cartoons. I like any Cartoons with betty performing songs on stage, like (Vaudeville) it links to her Helen kane persona. I guess i like most of her cartoons. mostly the earlier one's when everything was surreal.
Once 1933-1934 came around all of betty's animal friends has dissapeared which was kinda sad.... knowing she had so many and they were replaced with humans for the new ones and bettys outfit was changed and she was no longer a 1930s flapper, instead she was more like popeyes girlfriend olive oyl.
I guess the 1980s cartoon movie shorts reflect on both.
take the romance of betty boop it reflects upon Betty in the real world, where as Betty boops hollywood mystery goes back to betty with all her animal friends. out of all the cartoons here are 3 of my fav.
1. Silly Scandals
2.Stopping the show
3. dizzy dishes

I think the cartoon with the little boy was called (Play Safe). its funny how most of the little children in various Fleischer Cartoons have the same shaped head as Betty Boop.
