1930’s Betty Boop wooden, jointed doll a& story to share! (NOT for sale)
Prized, this very special and rare doll survived. I am under the impression that there were only 1000 made. This doll has unique characteristics as one of the arm socket pieces is cut much deeper that the other side. Slight damage over the years she was professionally restored in the 70’s. The original heart label has not been touched up and a small piece has been missing since childhood.
HEART LABEL READS: “BETTY-BOOP” D(missing letters) COPYRIGHT FLEISCHER STUDIOS (the “F” in Fleischer is also missing).

My Mother, Bonnie Dalton, won this doll as a prize when she was a little girl. Back then the local Fredonia, Kansas Movie Theater, played silent movies on the screen as someone tickled the ivories and pounded out exciting dramatic piano solos. To entice the crowd they gave away bags of groceries and special prizes to the lucky ticket holders during intermission.
