PETITION! Definitive Collection DVD boxset.

Surprised there are not more threads demanding a comprehensive set similar to Popeye. How can we get a petition going or contact executives so that a full uncensored DVD set is released?

Here is a post I left on Amazon for the Popeye boxset:

Please Warner or Paramount, or whoever has rights to Betty Boop, provide us with a comprehensive treatment of our favourite gal, as evidendence in this brilliant release of Popeye.

As Betty Boop and Fleischer fans, our wallets are open and we are "showing you the money" for the following:

1) Comprehensive release as in the Definitive Collection, 8 VHS release, which included all of her shows.

2) Pre-hayes era and uncensored. For those unfamiliar, film censorship reared its ugly head in the mid 30's, forcing Betty to adopt a new image, with toned down shows leading to her eventual demise. We want the witty, cabaret, garter belt wearing Betty, not the full length dress, housewife Betty! Duh!

3) No digital noise reduction, which has butchered some DVD releases.

Finally, is there anyone working in show business who can throw us a nugget as to whether anything is in the works, and whether Betty Boop fans have something to hope for in the future?

Poking around this site, I found that Republic, makers of BB: The Definitive Collection VHS set, have sold rights to someone else, I think it was Lions Gate, and that they have no plans to issue a DVD release. A damn shame. There is a new two disc set that has all three Cab Calloways on it, and a couple of other good ones, but also a lot of post- Hays Office stuff. It claims it is "digitally remastered," but from what, the UM&M transfers? Ugh! I was hoping someone on this board would have bought it, and could comment, but I haven't found any such postings.

just to let you know Betty boops garter was never removed it was moved upper, becuse if you watch betty boop when she goes to grampys house in slow motion you can see her garter

i was trying to learn the lyrics to grampys house and i put it in super slow motion but not the version where the voices go deep just normal and slow

and when betty boop started dancing i could see her garter belt

Also to state that i saw a model sheet from the 1939 of betty boop

you know the last appearances of her in 1939 when she looked taller, anyway i saw the model sheet and she had her garter on her leg
