Betty Boop Costume

Hi all,

I would LOVE to be Boop for holloween. I think I all I really need is a pin curl wig, I can cover everything else. I check ebay, and they have a few things, but I would like another option.

Hey Boopers!!

When I did BB for a costume party just this last Labor Day, it took me all day to do my hair. But my hair is also down my back. I just pulled my hair back in a ponytail, then just pinned it up into a small bun on the back of my head. Then pulled thin hairs around my face, only four per side, curled them around my finger and pinned them and hair sprayed the. I went around my town like this before the party. When 6 pm hit for the party, I just unpinned the curls and I just jumped out of my skin. For it worked perfect!! My son took pictures but I haven't gotten them yet. Hope that this helps.

Thanks! I was wondering if that would work! I will try it out and let you know. I would like to see your picture decked out as Boop! I found a great red dress at my local Goodwill. I am so excited! Now all I need is bright red lipstick and I'm all set!

I ordered a costume and it comes with a wig. I tried the pin thing, but it did not work! Now, my question is accesories. I know that Betty Boop wears red lipstick, gold hoop earrings, and the garter. What else? Does she usually wear red shoes or black? What style???

Red pumps i think! i think she also sometimes wore a red bead neckalce, and a white feather bower!

I also wanted to make sure, Betty usually does not wear stocking right? I have a red sequine dress, pump shoes big hoop earings purse wig and garter, but was not sure on the leg part.

I don't think she normally wears stockings with her red dress. I have seen her in stockings before but not in this style.

Hi BradsBoopster!! Welcome to the forum!! Good question about the stockings. I would wear stockings with the pumps just because I always do but I've seen her wear fish net stockings with some of her biker outfits but not with her dresses.

So are you going to dress up as our gal Betty for Halloween? Be sure and take a photo and post it here or in the chit chat lounge for all of us to see, ok?

i found a Betty Boop costume at a website called buycostumes.com

the one i got came with the wig, the garter, the dress and white gloves. shoes came seperately. i just went out and bought a pair of red shoes that way it was cheaper. you can also get a wig cap which helped me because i have a lot of hair. and i believe it was like 70.00 CAD so if your in the states its a little less.
