What a small World. So what took you to Arizona? I'm blessed with some good neighbors ! What about you? How do you like Arizona? I would think it woul be a tad bit Hotter living over there right?

I lived in Bellflower from 1960 until 1970... then I got married and moved to Cerritos. Our family also lived in Norwalk for a few years before we bought our house in Bellflower. We lived in Nichols St. (which isn't too far from you). I graduated from BHS in 1968... wow where did that time go??? You must be pretty young!

We had family friends who lived in La Mirada and they retired to Lake Havasu City... talk about a small world huh?

I live near Prescott, AZ.... about 200 miles from Lake Havasu. But I spent a lot of time on Lake Havasu cause my folks had property there and we waterskiied there in the summers.

My husband and I left California in 1995 and moved to Las Vegas.. moved here in Jan. 1998 and we love it here. We live out in the country. My mom and sister also live here.

The last time I was back in Bellflower was in 2001... went back for a reunion at the school. The class of 68 is having a reunion this weekend but I won't be able to make it.

Take care and let me know how things are in Bellflower.

Hi CuteBooper, I never lived anywhere else but Brooklyn, New York. I have stayed with friends in Long Island, New Jersey & Pennsylvania for a couple of months but that is it. I have relatives that live in San Diego, California & one of my friend's sister lives in Los Angeles. I did get affected by the black out we had just went shopping my family & I we had purchased alot of meat & groceries & it all went bad, my nephew's fish died because the filter was not on all night he is only 5 years old & he was crying so much I felt so bad. The weather here was very rainy this summer but we have had 2 weeks of sunshine which was good. New York is very fast paced it is great I love it here. Well anyways I will talk to you again Gina :D :D :D :D

:) Biker Betty Boop~
So how was your High School Reunion? Was it kind of nice and weird at the same time? I think it would be that way for me. Seeing my old friends ( and enemies)- well just a couple of enemies. It would be good to see the people that you wondered how they would turn out, and how they ar doing now. Ivé tried going on the Classmates web site, but you need to pay to be a member to e-mail anyone. Still thinking about joining.
Anyway, Bellflower is an alright area to live. Just sometimes I can't sleep at night when the Ghetto Bird is out there looking for somebody if you know what I mean! My husband has always been use to it cause he grew up in a Long Beach area where it was alot worse.
But- I do like my neighborhood and I really like my Good Neighbors. Maybe someday we will live out in the country. I know you gotta love that.

Hey Cutebooper - welcome to the Betty Boop forum. As you've probably realised by now, its wonderful here, and everyone is so friendly. I've been away for two weeks, and have come back to a whole load of new Boopers! Its great that the word continues to be spread!!

Awww, thanks Living Booper, its always nice to know you've been missed!!

Greece was wonderful thank you - very hot!! It reached about 44 degrees last week, which to some people probably doesn't sound all that much, but when you're used to very low temperatures its a lovely change!! The two weeks just flew by. I managed to consume copious amounts of cocktails (resulting in me and some friends we met over there jumping in the pool at 3.30 in the morning, and waking everyone up! Luckily they all laughed about it and said it sounded like we were having fun!)

My best mate and I managed to get through 2 weeks without killing each other - a few minor 'words' were said, but that was about it.

Its nice to be home again I suppose, although a couple more weeks in Greece wouldn't go a miss!! I enjoyed catching up with the forum, although I've also had to catch up with work as well, so time has been tight! Grrr - coming back to work after two weeks is not fun!! Hehehe.

Well the reunion was nice except not enough time to see everyone and talk. It's been 35 years since graduation so everyone is a lot older and hard to recognize everyone. Our last one was 15 years ago and people really change in 15 years!
The reunion was at Balboa Island.. nice place but expensive!

I haven't been to Bellflower for a few years but it has changed a lot since I lived there in the 60's!!!

Take care!!!

Hi Bexi;
It sounds like you had a great time in Greece. It would have been great if a few of your fellow Boopers could have joined you for that late night swim. It was good that nobody complained about the noise. Some people get jealous when you have too much fun.
Good to have you back.

Hey John! You may have just stumbled onto something!
Maybe next year some of us Boopers could get together and have some sort of a Booper convention/vacation! Of course we would have to agree on a destination.
I know a few of our British friends would like to come to Los Angeles.
That might be a fun place to meet and vacation.

What do you think Boopers???????????

Anyway, it is a fun thought...

Take it easy everyone!

There was a Betty Boop convention this past summer in a suburb of Los Angeles. (the people with the huge collection told me about it.) They have it every year. It's held at a store.

But perhaps we could plan something not retail oriented.... something fun!!

Kayla
09-23-2003, 11:20 PM
That would be so cool.

Well Follow Boopers,

Now to have a BB Convention or Festival would really be lots of fun and work. It would lots of work but really worth it. Where could we start for next year? Lets Talk!!!!
Betty

livingbooper
09-24-2003, 01:22 AM
Well, I think we need to start planning now. It will be a lot of work, but I think well worth it.
Let's start by picking a place.
We'll vote on it.
I nominate Los Angeles....

A BB convention would be such a laugh. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way that I could get over to America! I'll just have to be there in spirit - or someone could carry a mobile phone around with me on the end! Hehe

 But I thought you wanted to vacation in L.A. next year.....??????

bexi3
09-24-2003, 04:47 AM
I do..I really do but I don't think its gonna happen. My dad and step mum spent the money they had on getting a new kitchen and various other household refurbishments!! Grrr.....they said a holiday only lasts two weeks at most, but the house will last forever. Like thats a reason!! Soooooooo, unless I start saving up NOW, and dont eat for a year, then I might be able to afford it! Unless I speak really nicely to my boyfriend.....................;)

Betty
09-24-2003, 10:51 AM
Hey Booper!!!

Why not have a festival at your location at the same time or during the same week. Make it a Sister Festival??? Now for L.A.?? Where in L.A.?? The need of a convention center or some kind of large indoor area is needed. Where in L.A. can something like that be found for the least money? Unless the Hearst Holdings would like to suggest any ideas. L.A. is a great place, any more locations?

Betty:rolleyes:

Betty
09-24-2003, 10:56 AM
Dear Bexi3;

If this idea of a convention here in California works, MAYBE something can be worked out for those BB fans to get here as a guest? Or again maybe have other BB fans in your location get together during the same time as here and have a Sister Festival?
Betty

Well I hope something can be worked out cos it would be such a shame to miss out on something like that. I'm sure we'll come up with something. Good idea Betty!

Way to go Boopers!
Maybe we should take a poll. Why don't we start a new thread and call it the Convention Poll...?
I'll start the thread, but I'm depending on all you guys to join me there!

Hey Theresa! Hmmm...no L.A.? In the other post we created about the Convention 2004, the location of Las Vegas came up, and I know you don't like that place much....

We need Theresa there, so any other ideas Boopers????

Hey Lizzy,
I like Las Vegas as a great place to visit but not as a place I'd ever want to live again. So my vote is for Las Vegas!!!! Rather than Los Angeles.
