Can anyone tell me where I can find some African American Betty Boops? I have only 3 - one my father found on a tile, and the other two were made especially for me. I am African American, and I am obsessed with Betty Boop, but would love to have her in all nationalities. I have a collection growing in my home (my husband is not thrilled with this), but I figure if I could find some more African American Betty's he wouldn't be so upset.

I'm not aware of any official Betty Boop products with Betty in different nationalities.

hmm, that sounds interesting. i sometimes wonder what is betty boop's ethnicity, as i've heard more than one different account of it. i'm often told i look just like BB, and i'm a racial mix of asian and caucasian background. would you happen to have any pics of your african american BB doll? just curious to see :)

Im with you MizBam I wish I had some Betty Boop things in different nationalities. It would be nice cause you can find lots of other famous icons in different races but then there are some you cant. I still will collect BB stuff.:)

Yes, I have two pictures of the two that I have. My coworkers son, who is very talented, also made a gorgeous picture. I had to scan it and save it as a photo but it is just truly amazing. I had to shrink it down really small in order for it to show, but it is an 8x10 picture.

I ran into your thread while trying to find the exact thing you are talking about. I got my daughter started when I saw an artist who painted African American Betty Boop handbags, jean skirts, etc.

After getting my daughter a jean jacket and myself a "get away girl" overnight bag, I lost contact with the artist. Well actually her phone doesn't work any more. I was trying to find some more items but I have not had any luck.

Did you every find any?

yes it is but you can allways make your own i do all the time thay sell the fabric in i make alot of stuff in i have betty boop painted on all kinds of clothes

My step-daughter is starting to like Betty Boop THANX to little ole me!!!!!!!!!!! And I would LOVE to find a few things with African American Betty for her...My baby(almost 17!) is black and even tho she likes her white dolls that her nanny(MY MOM) sends her every year when she got her black baby from nanny you could see the pleasure in her eyes...I'd like to see it more often.............So if anyone should come across anything please let me know...Of course it has to be a lisensed item
