I'm sure not as knowledgeable about Betty as the Mooch clearly is, but I've written about cartoons for decades & was a regular contributor to the probably forgotten cartoon news mag Mind Rot Magazine in the 1970s. I've been watching or rewatching all the Betty cartoons I can lay hands on in batches & writing articles or reviews with the intent of eventually posting at my website reviews of the whole lot of 'em. Part I: Betty Boop's Origins is here:
http://www.weirdwildrealm.com/f-bettyboop.html

Part II: Betty's Evolution is here:
http://www.weirdwildrealm.com/f-bettyboop2.html

Part III: Betty &amp the Sing-alongs here:
http://www.weirdwildrealm.com/f-bettyboop3.html

Betty & Cab Calloway here:

I'll be adding another batch of Betty reviews once each week until I've covered them all. If I've made any howling errors I welcome corrections from Ye Knowledgeable Ones.

I checked your site, read all the Betty reviews, and about a dozen or so film reviews. Lots of good work there! I enjoyed it, and will check it out some more.

I am working on putting all Fleischer Studios toons with Betty in them on DVDs, in chronological order by release date. When I have accomplished this, I intend to watch them all, in order, in just two or maybe three sittings. I now have all but two Betty Boop Cartoons, all but 4 Talkartoons, and all but 11 Screen Songs. Most of the Screen Songs I am missing are to early to have Betty. Right now, my BB filmography is at about 130 toons. But, I have a lot more Screen Songs to check. One Talkartoon I don't have is Accordion Joe, but I have confirmed through various sources that it DOES have Betty. There is another Talkartoon, Teacher's Pest, which has BB and Bimbo as elementary school kids. Bimbo is the lead in that one. I have that one.

I'm trying to help flesh out the listings at The Big Cartoon Data Base, where I am also a newbie, with the same handle. So, I take notes to make a short synopsis for each toon, as I watch. I did notice a thing or two with which I have a minor quibble in your reviews. When I get my project done, I'll read over your stuff again, and send you any potential corrections I turn up.
