:D Hello everyone, How the heck are you all? I became A member sometime ago, but for some reason I have not been here in A while, so I thought I would re-introduce myself. I have been A Betty Boop fan for almost 2 year's now, I just adore her. I am also A HUGE Marilyn Monroe fan. I am married my husband is in the military and serving overseas in Iraq. He is in the signal/communication's unit. He is in A safe zone over there but of course I am still worried. We are both hoping he will be home by Christmas:( . I collect Betty stuff but I try and limit myself on stuff to buy becuase me and my husband are down to one income. I quit my job of 13 year's when he got activated for deployment and also the fact that I was completly misserable at my job. I realized I was unhappy when I would wake up in the morning and not want to go into work and come home crying and taking it out on him which is not fair to him. My husband and my marriage is real inportant to me. I really like it here everyone seem's real cool:cool: and friendly. I will probably be checking in more often now. I did just buy myslf A Betty Boop back pack/purse, it has Biker Betty my personal fave and I also bought at A doll show A few week's back A Biker Betty she sit's on A motocycle, the engine reves up and sound's like she is driving it and she talk's. I just love it. Well sorry for rambling.

Hey, you're not ramblin'! Just read MY posts! Now me, I'm a rambler!!! lol (I bet no one in here would disagree with that!!!)
Welcome back. And thanks for re-introducing yourself. It's always nice to meet someone new and know a little bit about them.
I ride a motorcycle and have another bike which is a showbike that I ride as a passenger because it weighs 1100 lbs. and I can't hold it up! So of course Biker Betty is my favorite!
I wish your husband godspeed in completing his mission in Iraq and hope that he comes home to you soon safe and sound. I commend him on his service to his country and his self-sacrifice in doing so. I have the utmost respect for our men in arms. Bless him!
Well, I hope to "talk" to you soon.
Keep on Boopin'!!!:D

Glad you are back!
I am very patriotic too!
I think that our congressmen and senators should stop giving themselves pay raises and start paying our servicemen better, with better benefits. These are the men and women keeping us free, for goodness sake!
Take it easy!
Talk to you soon!:)

---Lizzy :D You hit the nail on the head with that one. My husband is A reservist one weekend out of the month 2 week's out of the year and I have seen his paycheck let me tell you it is not much at all, there is A reason why alot of the millitary reservist's have regular full time job's they don't get paid diddly squat. Since he has been deployed he has been making good money, but it still is not much compared to what they are doing being put in harm's way, seperated from their families ect. Don't get me going on the politic's I could go on and on.

Are we supposed to talk about politics here? Thought it was a "no - no".....
But since we're on the subject. I vote for Betty Boop for governor of California!

We need her as governor of Arizona too! We're having a gas shortage problem here ... have you seen it on the news? Long lines and extremely high prices! It's terrible... a gas pipeline broke about 2 weeks ago and they haven't gotten it fixed yet. I think it's a ploy by the gas companies to make more money... but why Arizona?????????

Hey, well, it's all about gas politics. You are absolutely right!
WE live near a couple of oil refineries, have to deal with the occaisional explosion, have to breathe the fumes, and they don't have far to ship it, yet we pay the highest prices for gasoline in the country. What's up with that???? I think that they are "porking" us because we live in an affluent area and real estate is the highest in the country, so they try to get the most out of us. It really isn't fair...
Watch out.
From what I've seen many businesses are flocking to Arizona, and many more people are moving there. The state is experienceing a boom of growth. The oil companies will take advantage of that....
Believe me, I've witnessed all their excuses over the years...and I say..."YUCK!".
Anyway, take care, and I'll talk to you soon.

The national average for gasoline is $1.57 a gallon but here in Arizona it is anywhere from $2.00 to $4.00 a gallon!
The builder of the pipeline says they hope to have it fixed in a week or so.. in the meantime, the citizens of Arizona are paying horrendous gas prices! They are bringing it in from California, Nevada, New Mexico. Hard to believe it costs that much more to ship it here from the neighboring states.
When I lived in California I was near refineries too and I often wondered about the high prices too! Especially since it isn't trucked very far!
Guess I need another job to pay for gas!

Oh my you are certainly getting gouged. Our average price right now is $1.98 per gallon, and I feel that this is too steep. Well, I hope that they get the pipeline fixed for all the good people of Arizona!
At least you have a motorcycle which is better on gas than a car!
Good luck!
