The only problem with a having something people have made as a contest is that not everyone has the facilities to put pictures up of it! Just something to consider!!

THis contest is to be fun. I love the idea of the homemade items but the topic of scanners and pictures has not been workout, hope in the near future it can happen. Also, can DEADPOOL just be a little nicer. I really like this website so be KIND to everyone.

Well, since Valentine's Day is coming up... How about a contest about poetry this time? If we start working now we should be able to come up with some nice poems for Valentine's with a romantic theme? Of course, we should involve Betty Boop in the poem, because I think that she is a romantic kind of gal.

We start writing and posting and the judging should be done before Valentine's and the winner(s) posted right on Valentine's Day! Boop-oop-a-doop!!!!:D

what is silly haiku? Sounds Hawaiian?

A haiku is a particular type of poetry. I took a poetry course in college and was exposed to all types of poetry.

Haiku poetry originated in Japan.
It is only two lines and has a particular rythm. I'm not sure if I got the rythm right, but I think I came close.

Haikus are simple but difficult to do successfully. You have to be able to convey an idea and emotion with the fewest possible words.

They are a real challenge, and I think I was challenging myself when I picked that format. It wasn't very good, but I'd like to practice some more.

Haikus are simple but very elegant.

Well, I learn new things every day. I am constantly learning....it never stops. If you are open to learning you just enrich yourself all the time. I can't help it, I crave knowlege and I am a very curious person.
And I don't think that haiku is a silly word... it's an elegant word from another land...
