Bimbo and Pudgy based on real dogs?

I was wondring if Pudgy and Bimbo were based on real dogs like Snoopy a begal and Scooby Doo a great dane? I was going to get pugs because they look like them to me, but I wanted to know their actual breed.

im not sure what type of dog pudgy is i have a jack russell terrier pomerainine cross and his body looks just like pudgy's but his jaws are too long, maybe pug is the closest you could get, or maybe an english bulldog

nope i dont think they are, but we cant be sure....
Bimbo actually had been around since earlier times he as betty went though a whole lot of changes but he didnt turn human he stayed as a dog.

pudgy? i think he was created by myron waldmon, and myron waldmon sure didnt like bimbo the dog, well in one of his interviews he made that clear.
