I wonder if they only have them in England, I know the store started in Switzerland & then they had a big store made here in New York, I also think the H&M stands for the 2 men who started the store. I would love to go to England my cousin used to live there & my brotherinlaw's sister is married to someone from England his family still lives there. He lives here & a friend's sister is Lisa B. she is a singer & Model. Well show us the picture of the pj's & the brush so we can be jealous lol. Talk to you soon Gina :D

Well, Bexi3, I'm afraid it's hard to stay away. After all, I am obsessed with BB just like you guys.

My fiance went to a bike show in Lodi last Sunday and got me some cool BB stuff there. I've been dying to talk about them!
(He got me a pin from a Hollister show, but, well, he uses reading glasses to see fine print and details and didn't realize that she was X-rated! I looked at her and saw that she was only wearing boots! I told him that I absolutely will not wear THAT pin!!!)
This time he got me a real cool Biker Betty patch that I'm going to sew on my riding vest. It's a front view of BB leaning over the handlebars in a black leather vest and her signiture cap. And they got the color of her eyes PERFECT! It's a good size, about 3" x 4". Sorry, don't know the metric conversion....
and he got me a real cool Biker Betty enamelled pin. Kind of looks like my icon here.

By the way, I checked out BikerBettyBoop's website and she's got some pretty cool stuff. I'll be buying things from her soon to expand my collection. Her prices are reasonable.

Bye for now...

Hey Biker Betty Boop!
I'm afraid that the patch was mine. My fiance stuck it in my scanner as a joke when I was scanning something, so I saved in in a file on my computer.
He got it at for me at a booth at a motorcycle show in Lodi, CA. I don't know where the vendor got them.
You remember Creedence Clearwater Revival? The song "Stuck in Lodi Again...." Well this is the little town that they wrote about in the song...kind of a dumpy little town you don't want to get stuck in.... O.k. to just pass through though... lol

If you want one for yourself, I'll keep an eye out for one. Maybe we could make a trade on something?

Did you check out BBooper's pillow? She made it, and it's awesome!

Wow! What a small world this is.
Firemen are such incredible people. Since I met Don I've learned so much more about them. They are truly heroes, even the ones that you don't hear about.
Don left the fire department about 3-4 years ago. He was going to go back in but then 9/11 happened. Most of his company perished at the Towers. He would not be with us if he was working then. He spent 4 months in search and removal there. Then he headed out to California and met me!
...I wonder if your uncle knows him. His name is Don Derrico.

I'm looking foreward to my visit to New York next month... Then the PJs and the red hair brush wil be mine!!!!:) :D :) :D

Well when you come to New York you will get all the Betty stuff that we have. The lady in the store said that they are supposed to get more Betty stuff, she said they always carry Betty stuff & snoopy. Well thank God Don was not hurt on 9/11, firefighter's are truly heroes . I'm sorry to hear about the people you lost. I guess it hit New Yorkers the hardest. Don is my connection to it, but I felt a massive grief after it happened. Don lost about 80 people he knew. I just can't imagine how aweful that has to be. I will not share what he went to during the removal lest I upset anyone who may find the subject matter objectionable. But I was with him last year on the first anniverary of 9/11, and he was upset all week. He was a basket case. I had to try to soothe him down every night during the week preceeding. It was so hard to see a tough guy like him cry, but he did for a week. We had a candlelight vigil after I got home from work that day. He told me stories about the various individuals in his company. If he goes through this again I will take notes this year and write a book on the people.
I am kind of dreading the anniversary this year, he was so upset last year. I'm hoping that time will have healed him a bit and maybe he won't take it so hard. I know we will probably hold a private memorial like we did last year.

I read to him the names you mentioned, but they didn't ring a bell. He said that there are hundreds of firefighters in New York. He said that nobody knew each other by last names. I remember from a conversation we had last year that they all had nicknames, and many times guys only knew each other by those.
One of Don's nicknames was "Taz". He was given that name because he was always the first one to jump into a building if he thought there were people inside. Do you know your fireman friend's nickname? That might ring a bell with him.

Don worked as a volunteer firefighter on Long Island before he worked full time for the City of New York.

I've never been to New York, but both of my parents are from there. I'm sure I'll be given a very unique tour. And I'm sure that I will see ground zero. I just hope that Taz will be o.k.

Sorry to get serious....
But it's theraputic to talk about it.

Anyway, thanks for filling me in on the H&M. I'm looking foreward to my shopping expedition for BB stuff, and I'm so happy to hear they they like to maintain good stock of BB merchandise!:D

Talk to you soon!:)

Hi Lizzy, I know my uncle has a nickname but I forgot what it is I have to ask him. He told me the same thing that they all have nicknames. Yes it was a very hard thing for New Yorker's because everyone thought that it could never happen here, it was also hard for the rest of the people all over the United States it was a horrible thing that could have happened anywhere. I could imagine what Don went thru because I also volunteered there & it was horrible. I lost a family member so I felt I had to volunteer it is a hard thing to get over, I also had a prayer vigil on the 1 year anniv. it will take time for Don to come to terms with what he saw but he will get better. Do just what you are doing listen to him that helps alot. Well anyway let's get off this subject because this is the Betty Boop forum & I don't wan't to upset anyone. Well let me know when you are coming to New York. Talk to you soon Gina :D ;)

Yes, I am done with this tangent. Thank you for sharing. People here where I live are so removed, and you give me comfort in the thought that someone understands where I'm coming from. I want you to know that I feel for you, and I care. I hope I can offer some comfort for you.

My vacation in September starts on September 10th, but we will probably fly out on the 13th or 14th, and return on the 18th. Don has business in New York and I'm accompanying him.

I kept getting "splooshes") and then after we exchanged emails, I edited my address off the post. This was fast and easy to do, just took minutes. And I don't think it was shared with anyone else. If you know of a better way, then I'm open. If you'd rather not, I understand...

Well, take care:) and I'll talk to you soon.:)

Sorry about the diversion within this thread. I guess I'm bad about that. But I will try to get it back to the subject and to the fun tone where it started. O.K.?
My trip to New York is very much on my mind... and I am taking my first week of vacation RIGHT NOW!!! Gee!

I am off this week, but I'm just chillin', no particular plans. So I think I may be Boopin' a little more than usual. Hehehehe!
Of course this means....more time to SHOP!!!!!
So of course I will be on the lookout for more BB stuff. If I find anything out there that I absolutely MUST have, I'll post it. I'm hoping to find something fabulous. I'll try to post a picture if I find it.

I am so green with envy about all of BBooper's great goodies she's found that I can't wait another month. I want to find something NOW! I'm really envious of that red brush....I really want one of those...the design is so classic....and Betty Boop looks SO coy with that wink!

Of course no one else will be able to get a pillow like hers... she made it herself! I am still so impressed.

So, Boopers, let's keep shoppin'. I may just head out to The City (San Francisco) to search for some treasures. Anyone get anything else new recently?

Take care Boopers!:)

Hey Livingbooper!

Oh thank you! I may take you up on that.
I'll wait till next month and see if I can get one in NY, but if I can't I may want you to do this.
I'd be willing to do the same for you too. If I find something cool and you want one, I'll check into the postage and get it over to you. The postage out of the states is kind of high (I was going to return a little pendant to Thailand that I bought on EBAY, but it wasn't worth it), but I'd scope it out for you.
Do you have PayPal in the UK? Paypal makes it easy to send money back and forth. I use it all the time with EBAY and Yahoo Auctions.
But I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it...

Thank you so much for thinking of me and making such a cool offer!:) You are so sweet!:D Just like Betty Boop herself!:D

Take care. I'll talk to you later:D

Hey Living Booper,

Yes we have paypal here, but I'm not altogether sure how to use it!! I have used it once or twice, but I forget easily! I'm going to H&M tomorrow to have a little look at what they have - never realised they were so heavily into Betty Boop - they've always just been a normal clothes shop!! I'm really just going to buy some tops for my holiday, but I'm sure I'll end up buying some Betty Boop stuff!!

Well, my offer still stands, I did give you my e-mail address once before, and I'm quite happy to post it on here so if you can't find it let me know - then you can e-mail me yours so you don't have to post it on here.

See ya

Oh my it's shopping time! Have fun shopping at the H&M! I hope you find some cool BB stuff! And you will keep us posted on the latest finds, won't you????? (I'll just add anything good to my shopping list...lol).

I am registered with PayPal, so if I need to take you up on your offer I can just send you money to your email address. I'm not quite sure how you can collect it as I've only used it to send money, not receive it. But I imagine that if you sign up with them you'd have to give them a bank account number or credit card and they'd put the money right where you tell them to. I did get a refund through PayPal once on an order I'd paid via a credit card and they just credited the card.

Well, happy shopping, and I'll talk to you soon! Your holiday is coming right up, isn't it? You must be very excited!:D

I think I can remember which thread you posted your email addy in. I'll go back and find it and put in into my address book. Since this site can be accessed by anyone surfing around, I highly recommend that you go back and edit it out of your post, however. I know that a pound is worth more than a dollar, so if Becky is right about the ratio, I'm guessing that the brush will cost about $2.00 American. I forgot how converting money can be sooo confusing!
I went to Italy about 10 years ago, and being the shopper that I am, I was constantly having to convert lira into dollars to figure out how much I was spending. I was going crazy at first, but after a while I got pretty good at it (since my shopping habits were honing my conversion skills LOL).

Find anything new lately? This thread is so much fun! Thanks for starting it! When they invented the motto "Shop till you drop" they were thinking of ME! Hahahaha!:D

Oh, and I must tell you all, I was shopping on EBAY yesterday looking for BB stuff when I came across a very cute beaded shirt that was mostly red but with BB images on it. It was TOO CUTE! It was a listing from the U.K. and priced in pounds. It looked very reasonably priced for what it was, and I'm not sure if anyone bought it or not. It may be worth a peek, especially if the seller had more than one.

Well, take care, and I'll talk to you later!:)

I think I'm gonna wait a couple more weeks and see if I can pick up the brush myself if I can. It's so sweet of you to offer. If they are out of them when I come out next month, then I may take you up on your offer on your next trip out to the H&M.
The only way I see to exchange email addresses safely is to be online at the same time. If I can tell that you are online (by seeing you post stuff) then I will post my addy (briefly). I will need to you email me back to confirm that you got it, then I will remove it by editing the post. If I don't hear from you within say 30 minutes, then I'll remove it and try again another time. That is the only way I can think of to do this safely.

Well, now it looks like we are not going to be going to New York after all. It looks like the trip won't be necessary. Instead we will be going to Arizona at the end of September.
There is going to be a HUGE 4 day Valkyrie show in Prescott Arizona and we will be going there as a vendor to sell our products and also to enter our show bike The Dragon into the bike show. The Dragon is a fully customized Valkyrie with a gorgeous dragon paint job, tons of chrome, chrome dragon accents, and dragon etchings. We described it to the show director and he says our bike sounds very unique and has a feeling that we have a good shot at a win. I want that trophy so bad! We'll be competing against other Valkyries, so this time we'll have a level playing field.

Anyway, since I won't be going to New York this year, I won't be going to the H&M either. So now I an interested in taking up your kind offer to at least get the brush for me.
To do that we will definately need to exchange email addresses. So I will try to watch more closely to see when you're on and try to discreetly get you mine. I have another idea too, but I don't know if it will be allowed here.
My fiance and I have started our own forum in Delphi Forums about motorcycle riding and shows. Our forum is entitled "Free Spirit Riders". If you post to me there I can email you through the forum. I am the Dragonlady there. If mgchan doesn't want me to post this here, I will respect his wishes and edit this post.

Well, take care and have a good week! I bet you're happy to have your electricity back!!!!

Hey Lizzy... Dragon sent me the info about the Valkyrie show and I'm thinking about going as a vendor. Prescott is only about 25 miles from here!!! But whether I'm a vendor or not, I'm looking forward to meeting you in person!!!

BBooper I'm glad to hear you had a great holiday! But you're right, it's always nice to get back home to our own beds and homes isn't it?

Welcome back BBooper! I hope you had fun. We missed you. Just wasn't the same without you!

Hey BikerBettyBoop!
You are so close to Prescott, we just have to get together. You really should be a vendor. Dragon says that the guy putting this show on wants it to be as big as Inzane, so he is letting vendors set up with no fees. This is a freebie, you've gotta go! I too am looking foreward to meeting you. If we end up bringing my bike, we've got to go on a ride. Maybe we can do dinner. I have a cousin who lives in Scottsdale, and I'm thinking of visiting her. So I plan on making the most of this vacation. We will be staying right in the Hampton Hotel where the show will be at, and you are welcome to use my room to freshen up if you need to.

Talk to you all later!

---Lizzy

Bikerbettyboop
08-21-2003, 07:25 PM
Hey Lizzy, thanks for the invite... sounds like you are going to be busy. My sister and I will probably set up a booth. Like you said, can't beat it when they welcome the vendors so openly and forego fees! All they're asking is that we donate some things for the daily drawings and I'm pretty sure I can do that.

It should be fun and I'm looking forward to meeting you. You should bring your motorcycle so you can get some riding in. There are some pretty places to ride to around here.

Ever been on Old Route 66? Maybe we can do that too?!

Scottsdale is down by Phoenix and it will be hot down there. you should have your cousin come up here to see you.

Take care and ride safe!

livingbooper
08-22-2003, 12:51 AM
I've never been on Route 66. It sounds like a must do! But I don't know if I'll be able to bring my bike. There is no room in the trailer for two bikes, and my bike is too long for the bed of my Nissan truck, even sideways, apparently, according to Dragon.
However, we are pursuing a new line of thought. We are dressing up my bike with lights, chrome, and other custom accessories to show off Don's work for the business. He really wants to be able to take it along. And his Shadow is also dressed up and he's doing more. He wants to be able to take all the bikes to these shows. Although we have just bought the brand new trailer a couple of months ago, we are considering selling it and the Nissan and getting instead a box delivery truck. We'll be able to haul as many as four motorcycles plus install a bunk loft to sleep in and install a few other amenities.
When the business takes off, and it will very soon, we'll be on the road a lot and this idea sounds very practical. I'm hoping that we might be able to take the dog sometimes.

I'll keep you posted because I really want to go on that ride!!!!

Talk to you soon!

livingbooper
08-23-2003, 01:34 AM
Well, another change of plan.... We didn't opt for the big box truck because it was 3 tons and the insurance was out-of-sight. So instead we started looking for a longbed pickup that could hold my bike in the bed (going back to idea #1). Well, we found a used 1997 Dodge Ram longbed pickup for very a reasonable price. We had to drive to the other side of the bay to Sunnyvale to a small little used car dealer, but I am happy with the truck and the price. It has a few dents (which is why I got it so cheap with low miles) but Dragon says he can fix them and then we'll repaint it. I don't like the shade of blue that it is, and I think I'll go with a pretty earthy eggplant (purple!) color. I drove it home and it has a very smooth ride. I think that I can deal with the long trip to Arizona in it and will be comfortable. The little Nissan that I have is crampy and not very comfy, and long rides can be aweful in it.
So it looks like I'll be able to ride my bike in Arizona! How cool is THAT? Dragon wants to be able to bring my bike to the shows because it shows off his work. You've got to see the Betty Boop etching on my windshield! I think you of all people will especially appreciate it.

Take it easy.

So now you're going to New York Lizzy? When are you going?
Are you and Dragon still coming to Prescott for the motorcycle show? It sounds like you are going to be exhibitors? Glad to hear you now have a new truck.

I went for a ride today on my little Suzuki... rode out in the country for about 25 miles each way. It sure was peaceful! But looked like it was going to rain, so I turned around and headed back home.

Take care and see you next month!

Well, originally I was going to vacation in New York because Don had personal business there and he was going to show me around. (He is from New York, an ex-New York fireman). But it turns out he doesn't need to go, and we decided to go to Prescott instead for my vacation, so I'm sure we'll see you. Pop into our Free Spirit Riders forum and I'll tell you more about some of the exciting new developements with our business.

I was planning to go to the H&M in New York to get some goodies, but now it will have to wait. Gina had offered to pick up the red brush for me there, but we haven't been able to exchange emails.
I'm hoping to vacation in New York next year. Maybe I'll be able to hook up with Gina then, if it's o.k. with her....

The ride on the Suzuki sounds fun. I'm hoping to get my old 450 Nighthawk running again eventually. I will call it the Phoenix (as it will have returned from the ashes) and it will have a Phoenix theme. That was my training bike. Sometimes I think that it's kind of fun to bomb around on a smaller bike once in a while. Simple riding, not dressed up....whipping around the twists and turns of the back roads....

Well, take care! Ride safe!:D

Your pjs sound warm and cozy.

Hey Lizzy... which tshirts did you get?

livingbooper
09-18-2003, 02:43 AM
Well, let's see....
I got a white one with Betty Boop in her red dress standing next to a huge bottle of hot sauce (with Pudgy by her side, of course)

A Betty's Jeans for Women shirt with Betty Boop shown from the back with her head looking over her shoulder wearing blue jeans and a jean jacket with an American flag on it, and tennis shoes with no socks

"Get your kicks on Route 66" shirt with Betty Boop in her classic red dress wearing a garter with a Hwy 66 button on it, a keychain worn as a bracelet, a gas can with Route 66 on it, and Betty thumbing a ride. There is also a cactus with Route 66 on it. She is standing along a highway which is going off into the sunset. Looks like a very cool shirt, but I don't recommend hitchhiking like she's doing....

Then lastly a black t-shirt that says "Genuine Boop Parts". It shows Betty Boop flexing a muscle wearing a do-rag of red/white/blue and wearing a leather jacket (rolled up sleeves) over a red t-shirt, standing behind a motorcycle. Cool looking v-twin, perhaps a Harley? It is black with orange flames, and the headlight looks like Pudgy's head.... A cool looking shirt, I really like it...

Dragon is in Las Vegas right now at a show and has found lots of Boop stuff. And it sounds like he's already picked up a few items for me...
I'll keep you posted...

Hi There;
I went to the H & M store here in Boston to see what kind of Betty Boop items they have.
I was sad to see they only had one item ( and only one in stock of that item ) It was a Betty Boop top which had a price of $12.90.
You can see a picture of that top pictured on 10eke message on Sept 07 ( bbtophm )
I also saw a second Betty Boop calendar at Barnes and Noble bookstore. The price was $13.99 and the cover had a picture of Betty winking and blowing a kiss ( the same picture on 10eke's top mentioned above. )

Was the backround Yellow? I got the Betty Boop Calendar at Walmart for $4.99. What a deal! They only had a few and I snagged it. I've been back several times, and they've been sold out of the BB one. They've still got lots of other calendars, but I'm afraid we Boopers descended like locusts and cleaned them out of ours!!!!!:)

Yes, Dragon got me an awesome linited edition collectable figure of Biker Betty Boop on her motorcycle. It is large, about 20 inches long and a foot or so tall. The motorcycle is made of metal and it has a chain and rear wheel that turns. He got it at the Vegas show from another vendor as barter for neon work he'd done on her bike. It is absolutely AWESOME! I've got it safely packaged right now, but it will be going into the office when I'm done. I'll take a picture of it when I get the chance.:D

I plan on putting it our new office when we get it finished. I worked on the mouldings today, primed everything that needed priming. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to wallpaper the room. Then we can move the office furniture in. Then I intend on putting my new treasure on top of a desk or a hutch. I promise that when I put it in its place I will take a picture of it. And I will post it here! I am so very happy to have it, it is very awesome!:D

Oh yes and I forgot to mention the very cool magnets that I bought from BikerBettyBoop in Prescott.... One is very large and I am going to put it on a black metal filing cabinet that I have. The smaller ones I'll put on the 'fridge.

Hey Theresa! Did you get any clocks in? I want a BB wall clock for my office. One with hour marks that you can read easily. If you have one and you end up going to Laughlin, please take it along and sell it to Dragon. I'll instruct him to pay you! Also the Biker Betty bobblehead that you talked about before. Let me know how much it all comes to and I'll make sure Dragon has the money!

Take it easy! Keep on Boopin'!!!:D

I have found 'Betty Boop as Marylin Monroe' figurine on ebay. It starts at £29.99 which is actually pretty good but I'm absolutely skint - no money :( I've been looking for a marilyn monroe Betty Boop for ages - ideally I'd like one that is about 3ft tall like my waitress BB, but this one is 23cm. I want iiiiiiiiiiiiit! Unfortunately my electricity bill is more important! We'll see - I have a few days to ponder over it!

On the up side, I found out that I only owe my house mate £5 for the bills cos I paid for some and she paid for some, so we're pretty much even! Yay! That takes the pressure off a little. Hmmmm...now for that figurine........!

Hooray Becky!
Well, the little devil in me says, "Ya better get it before it's gone otherwise you'll be kicking yourself...."

Well, I just know how I feel when I want something so much!

The rubber dragon that we bought in Las Vegas was pretty expensive and we knew we wanted him when we saw him, but I just couldn't bring myself to part with the money....at first. We visited him a couple of times in the gift shop. After we pulled out of Las Vegas, we were on the road for 20 minutes and stopped for gas and played a slot machine at one of the last casinos (cool looking one, looked like a pair of Mississippi river boats) and then decided that we had to go back for him. We hadn't eaten yet that morning, so we decided to have breakfast at the Excaliber. So back we went... the lady in the shop told us about a discount card that we could get that would save us money, so we got that, had ourselves a wonderful breakfast at their buffet, then went back for him. We had mentioned that one of the wires in one of his wings was bent, so while we were at breakfast she checked with her boss and he o.k.ed that we could get a further discount on him. That was very cool of her. He was still way too much money...(sigh)... but sometimes ya just gotta do it. We would have kicked ourselves if we hadn't have gotten him. He is so fun and a great attention getter in our booth.

Sorry I'm a bad influence....:P

That bag is really lovely. I've been looking for a BB bag but the only ones I seem to spot are a bit tacky - that one's great though! xx

Remember we discussed H&M in this thead? I went to H&M today, and I found only one bra and matching shorts of betty. And only that! Last time I was there, they had about 3 or 4 different thongs and shorts and bras and stuff, but now... Well, almost nothing!! How about your H&M?
