Okay, this is really going to sound wierd, but my best friend wants to try out for cheerleading and she wants me to help her... I have no clue how to help her because the only cheer I have done was when ever I watch Betty Boop cartoons.

Does anyone know how she can practice and make the team because she really wants to do this and she is a Betty fan as well ;)

So A reply would be great. She is a sophmore in High school so I don't know if tryouts will be hard. She is athletic so she wants to try out for the base or something because she can hold a lot of weight.

If anyone can give me advice to give her that will be greatly thanked :D

PS: She can't do a cartwheel but she's trying... I don't know if that will help with anything

When I was in high school and wanted to be a cheerleader, I asked one of the other cheerleaders to help me out and she did. She came over to my house after school and she taught me several routines. SO I'd like to suggest that your friend approach one of the existing cheerleaders and ask for his/her help.

well, that'll be great if she wasn't afraid... you see she's on the obese side and is afraid that they would make fun of her if she asked... she doesn't want to be embarrassed... she really wants this though... is there any sites that she can look at to help her?

If she wants to be a cheerleader and perform in public, she will definitely have to overcome her fear of being in front of a crowd. I don't know of any websites that offer advice on this subject.

Don't know if I helped much but performing in public takes some confidence building skills... good luck to her!!
