DEADPOOL is correct! :D
Here's what I look for when choosing a moderator:
- Selfless interaction with other members.
- Contributions made by the member to the forums.
- How knowledgeable the member is with the different topics.
Lastly... how much the member enjoys being part of the forums!

I have to admit that I had no clue what everyone was talking about until it dawned on me. A Mod is a Moderator.
I was thinking Mods and Rockers. The Who fans will remember those terms from the album ( movie ) Quadrophenia.
The star of the movie was a young Gordon Sumner. You know him better as Sting. This was when the Police were just getting started.

Hey John!
Shhhh... I'm the same age as you! I too look younger and I love to fool people! Usually people put me at mid-thirties... and I love it!!!!
I've always looked younger than my age, which was a pain when I was in my early 20s 'cause I was constantly being carded...I was so annoyed. And they card you if they're not sure if you're 30 in the grocery stores. I used to love that! But now, sadly, they don't card me anymore *sniff!*... I guess I'm catching up with my age!

Well, I never colored my hair when I was younger. It was a beautiful dark brown with red highlights---naturally. My mother said I had hair the color of mahogany. It got redder in the summertime when I stayed out in the sun. I permed it sometimes though.
Then when I got into my 30s a few gray hairs started popping in here and there. I thought that salt and pepper might look nice, so I was not into coloring. My hair dresser started begging me to color my hair. When I was 38 it really started it come in strong right up front in a patch. I let her color it brown for my 20th high school reunion. I liked the even color, but the brown just wasn't my hair color. I tried a few different shades including dark auburn and have come to the conclusion that they just don't make my color in a bottle. Also, I had to stop perming my hair because it was just too much processing and I let it go straight. Grew out the bangs too because of the changing styles.
Well, I'd always liked the idea of going red because of my old red highlights, so I progressed from dark auburn, to medium auburn, to light auburn....and now to a color they call "true red". So now I am a flaming redhead....and I love it! If I can't have my own hair color I want to have a fun one!!!!:D
And now I am compelled to keep it up because now that streak of white in the front looks like a skunk stripe if I let it grow out!!!:( Ugh!!!!
Thank goodness for Clairol and Loreal!!!!!!:)
Hee hee! See ya later!:D

I like the colour that your hair is in te photos in the other thread. I dyed my hair that colour last year - didn't do much for me it has to be said! I dyed it straight back to the brunette that I started with!
When I was about 15, I decided that I wanted to go blonde - oh dear! That wasn't the best idea I ever had! The my best friend and I went to cornwall and i decided that just blonde was boring so I dyed two streaks at the front red! Man, I was one sexy chick! haha! But this was the phase where we liked to walk around the camp fields in bare feet so as to be 'at one with the earth', so red streaks were not unusual! Luckily I am somewhat normal now - well kinda!

my form tudor, who is like a friend to me, told me she went totally bleach blonde for a day and that it made her look daft because she is usually a brunette! I know what you mean about your haircut not ever looking like it does when you leave the salon. The hairdressers spend lots of time and play with it before you are ready to leave...way more time and effort than I would ever spend on my hair, and the cut never looks the same after that. I have very fine, but very thick hair that is nice and shiny, but has absolutely no body and hangs a bit limp. It never holds a curl. I used to perm it to give it body but stopped when I started coloring my hair. My hair has never held a designer cut well. Now I keep the cut simple....
But I have also managed to style my cuts "my way" to make something of them. It never looks like the hairdresser's do, but I've been able to make it look pretty good. So just keep playing with it Becky and soon you'll find the best way to style it for you!;)

livingbooper
01-10-2004, 06:17 AM
On New Year's Eve Don brought home a 10 week old Rotweiller puppy, a male. He is so cute! And very energetic. And he is very smart. The guy was just giving them away. I think that the guy was too broke to file the papers or get them their shots, or bob their tails. Our Rottie has his tail intact. And a long little whip of a tail it is! Apparantly their tails need to be bobbed within 3 days after birth. Now it is too late, and I'm sure the guy was having a hard tine trying to sell the puppies, a litter of 8.
We have named him Thor. He wil be our shop dog. Don is going to train him to be a guard dog.
Right now he is very lovable. I think that he will be a very loyal friend.:D

You're going to find out that he will be great company for you Lizzy and you will love him more each day.
The other day I was driving my truck into town and stopped at a red light and a truck pulled up next to me and there was a dog in the back of the truck and it jumped out and started running round my truck barking at my dog. It scared me! My dog barked back but she was inside the truck. Thank goodness.
I took off when the light turned green and the fellow was trying to get his dog back in the truck. I don't think I'd let a dog ride in the back if they jump out! That's dangerous!
livingbooper
01-21-2004, 01:53 AM
That's terrible! What a bad owner. Here in California they have laws that your dog has to have a doggie seat belt system to restrain the pooch when riding in the bed of a truck. That guy would have gotten a ticket for a violation here!!!! Some people can be totally clueless can't they?
Bikerbettyboop
01-21-2004, 12:29 PM
The sad thing about Arizona is that we're still of the "old west" mentality here and some people are really inconsiderate about protecting their animals. We still have open range laws here and I've had to chase cattle and horses off our property many times in the past 3 years!
I hate to see people driving down the road with their dogs in the truck bed unprotected. It's so dangerous.
I have a camper shell on my pick up truck, so my dog can't get out. I have a sliding window between the camper shell and the front seat and Scooter has her own mattress too!
I'd be really upset if something happened to her. She is my best animal companion!!

That dog could've been hit by another auto or truck. Fortunately, the owner was able to get it to jump back into the truck but it was still a very dangerous situation.
While at the post office earlier, a woman had her car window rolled down part way and her dog managed to get out and it came into the post office. It was very cute... a small dog.. but still people need to be more careful with their pets.

:( Unfortunatley there are alot of people who do not take very good care of the animals especially dogs and cat's. If they don't want them they will just abandon them on the side of the road like they were garbage and that's just awfull. Now I think here in the State of Illinois it is against the law for dog's to ride in the back of A truck? And I think it should be the law world wide because that is very dangerous for the animal. People seem to forget that animals have feelings too and they get hurt just as easily as people do. I don't know what I would do if anything ever happened to my Kitty Kat she is my pride and joy.:)

It was a Siberian Husky... he was beautiful with long thick hair and blue blue eyes... he was a real sweetheart. He played with my dog Scooter for a few hours before the woman came and picked him up. I hope he doesn't get loose again.
A friend of ours has a dog with 3 legs because her dog got loose and was hit by a car and had to have a leg amputated... it was sad and very expensive and quite painful for the dog.
I don't let my dog out of my sight... my cat... now that's a different matter... he's not an outside cat but he does his own thing... so independent!

Oh my! Well, I'm afraid unless the woman kennels the dog or make a spot in her house she will lose him again....
Siberian Huskies are sled dogs in the Arctic...they have no territorial instinct and they think that he whole world is their home.... They are notorious for getting out and running away to roam the world... just having fun of course...
My old dog Kira is half Siberian Husky and she is bad enough. When she was a young puppy her mother got out and was hit by a car so she and her littermates became orphans... The owners showed us pictures of her beautiful mother with the litter.... Kira is also half Brittany Spaniel but I think that her mother dominates her genes. She loves to try to get out and claws at the gate which I constantly have to repair.... but I am usually successful at keeping her fenced it. She had escaped a couple of times but fortunately I got to snag her in time.
That Huskie owner had better put a better effort into securing her dog... that's all I can say!

I haven't seen the dog since last Saturday so hopefully she has provided better housing for him.
I didn't know you had another dog besides Thor. How is your puppy doing?

Thor is doing fine. But he's putting a lot of wear and tear on Kira I'm afraid... poor thing. But she seems to like him... and actually looks to play with him sometimes.

Well hopefully he won't wear her out too much... hopefully her having a puppy around with help her live a longer and happier life. I can't hardly bear to think of my life without my dog.. she has sure become an important part of my everyday life. She is a great companion.
