Hi everyone!:D
I've been very busy lately and I didn't make it back to enter or vote in the last contest.
I just read all of the stories and I loved them.
Would it be appropriate to share mine?
I know that I've missed the contest, but I'd like to share a little of myself with all of you Boopers.
I call myself "LivingBooper" because I am.
My name is Elizabeth. I was born in 1955, and when I was born Queen Elizabeth II was a new monarch, Elizabeth Taylor was becoming a super star, and Betty Boop was very popular.
When I was little girl, I had chubby cheeks and big huge eyes, so my parents called me "Betty Boop". After a while, everyone called me "Booper". When you look at my toddler photos, you can see why... I still have a roundish face and big blue eyes, so there still is a small resemblence....
So as you can see, I was a BB fan from birth practically. I have a pretty nice collection of BB stuff that I've been collecting over the years.
I ride a motorcycle, and I was delighted to discover that the divine BB does too! My fiance is going to etch BB images onto the windshield of my new 750 motorcycle. I have decided that BB is going to be the theme of my bike. How cool is THAT? Eventually I will have her image painted on my bike, too. I have numerous BB pins which I am going to cover my new riding vest with. And I'm going to HAVE TO buy the Booper cap that I saw online... My excuse to my mother for buying a new motorcycle and riding again will be that I am Booper and Betty Boop rides! LOL!
So am I obsessed with Betty Boop? Of course! Just like you all!
Boop-Boop-a-Doop!

Thanks for sharing your story. :D

Even without the contest, how about continuing this thread with stories from the rest of the members? :)

My name is Jules and I have just signed up. I must read all the rules but I wanted to say hi, I thought I was the only BB fan around!! I live in Australia where BB products are as rare as hens teeth!! My hubby Steve bought me a maltese for my 40th and he named her Betty Boo (without the P) So the obsession began!! I have collected a few things over the years and all my friends are always on the lookout for anything to do with Betty for me!! I"m looking forward to being able to participate in the forums and meeting you all! Bye :

Welcome to the boards Jules and i hope you stay for.....ever!

Man being downunder sounds hard, not being able to get any Boop product through the mainstream stores. Well my advice is hit EBay, you should find lots there. Good Luck.

Hi Jules! Gooday to ya too!
I'm kinda new here too, but it's nice to have place to go to talk about one's obsessions! It's winter over there right now, isn't it? Really hot here in California now.....
There are lots of nice BB things you can buy online. Hopefully they ship to Aussie-land.
I'm still learning how to navigate around this site, but if you haven't figured it out now, click into the chit chat lounge and read some of the other topics. It can be some fun reading.
Welcome to our group!

Lizzy, thanks for your welcome!! Yes it is winter her in Oz but I live on the Gold Coast and the average temp is 22 at present so it is nice. I have seen so much lovely BB stuff on the different American sites and am so jealous!! It just costs so much with the exchange rate and then postage on top that I just have to look with my tongue hanfing out. I did have a trip to Los Angeles a few years ago, which is where I started my collection. Talk again soon. Love Jules xx

Hi Jules. Glad you could join us. It's so lovely here because everyone is really friendly and it makes you feel like you really belong to something. I too thought I was one of few Betty Boop fans, then I came here and was proved very very wrong! None of my friends are into Betty Boop so Im a minority! You'll spend more time posting in here than you think you will. I signed up just for the odd bit of entertainment but now I visit everyday and always find something to say, or reply to!

Have fun! Speak to you soon!

Love Becky

Jules, Welcome from the great Pacific Northwest. We are experiencing some totally awesome weather here. We are known for our rain, but it's been between 90-100 degrees here over the past few weeks. I have a friend that will be going "down under" soon and I've asked her to find me an Aussie Betty... It doesn't sound like she'll be having much luck from your email, but if you know of some place she could go, I'd appreciate you sharing that info. Thanks! Kittyboop

Hey Livingbooper.. thanks for sharing your story! And yes you'll find you have a lot in common with other Betty Boop fans who also ride motorcycles! Ms. Biker Betty Boop is quite popular with the two wheelers!

And welcome aboard Jules!!! I know you are experiencing some cold weather there in Australia but try to stay warm and just remember that in a few months when we're all cold here in America, you'll be warm as toast over there!!! Enjoy the forum!

I know it's difficult to add to your collection when you have to purchase it from the U.S. but hopefully it won't stop you from collecting any more.
