My flat mate has just revealed to me, via e-mail that she thinks that my waitress Betty Boop figure is tacky!! It's about 2 1/2 ft high, she wears skates and is holding a tray, and she is my prize possession and now I'm most offended. She says although she thinks its tacky, she does like it, but Im afraid that is no consolation! Am I to stand for this insult? It all started because I sent her a picture of this Betty Boop street lamp that I found for sale on the internet, and she said that she doesn't like it because it looks like it's taking itself too seriously, and that she prefers tacky ones like the one I already have! To be fair, I did tell her to talk me out of buying it because I can't justify spending whatever 139 dollars is in pounds, but that was just harsh!

Okay, I've finished now. Just had to express my displeasure to a community that would appreciate my concerns!

i don't know what you waitress betty looks like but it sounds great! i dont have anything of waitress betty, though i do have some kinda waitressy coca-cola betty boop thing's! Please post a picture i would love to see it. you can't buy much waitress betty!

My girlfriend has a 'Bettyboop Coca-cola Doll', and it looks great, the best Betty Doll she has at the moment. I really love it and it sounds to me that you have the same doll/s. So if thats the case its not tacky and is most likely the real thing like the doll my other half owns. Great stuff!!

But i personally think you should let it go, dont show that it hurt you, just pretend it never. At least you get to be selfish and not share the magic of Betty.(unless we can convert her over to boop love?)

How could any Betty Boop item be tacky? I think your friend may be a bit jealous of your collection? I think your Betty Boop figurine sounds wonderful!!! I've seen the waitress figurine and there is a restaurant in town that has one on display right by their front door. It's very nice! So don't be offended.. just be happy that you have one! you are lucky!
