Hello!
here is a few picyures of the porcelain figurines I inherited from my grandmother's stash. What are they and what might they be worth? They seem to be in mint condition except for a little surface dirt. No chips or scratches. Box says 66/1845 ... Fleischer Studios inc.
Made in Japan Geo. Borgfeldt Corporation.
They are 2.5 " tall.
Thanks, this has been a mystery to me for years!

What you have is the following, not sure why the mystery? Betty, Koko and Bimbo easily identifiable, yes?

1.107 1930s “BETTY BOOP & FRIENDS” Bisque Dolls Set of Three. One each of the Betty Boop, Koko, and Bimbo bisque dolls was put into a boxed set. Box has a label that pictures the figures inside, and is titled as in the quotes. It is possible that only these boxed sets were produced, and the single pieces we see today came from the split-up sets. Betty is wearing her trench coat and red tam. Koko is his black clown suit, Bimbo has a yellow vest. Betty and Koko are 3 inches high, Bimbo 2˝-inches. Another boxed set, with the same name, had four figures, with Buzzy Bop added. Geo. Borgfeldt, Japan. Uncommon, D. With original box, $500 -$1,000.

Since this looks like it is in very good condition, and is very rare in the box, you should be able to get $500 - $750 for it.

Thanks Leonard!
Oh, the mystery was not "who are they" the mystery has been "what are they for" Just little knick knacks then, I guess?

There was a collection of these types of figurines in boxes, only this 1 set is any licensed character the others are typical 30's style characters, boys and girls. But I wondered if they had some special purpose?

yes indeed, knick-knacks! STUFF we needed to collect! About that time, mass production of toys and 'things' was starting, prior, toys and such were all handmade, so marketers found ways to sell stuff to the mass market.
Remember that Betty was the first character to be patented, the first form was the 1932 wooden, jointed doll, and copyrights and trademarks were important, yet, they were not enforceable outside the USA. That's why many of these products were made in Japan.
The sets, and their variations, were popular as gifts, and other than that, really had no other purpose.
