Fleisher Studios - Japan. Incredibly Rare Betty Boop Porcelain Tea Set including the Original Box. Amazingly the original label From"Nifty Toy Tea Sets" is still on the box. After time went by the box sadly fell apart, But it can be repaired by the owner or a professional. Request more pictures of the box if you are interested.

Betty Boop, the cartoon figure, first appeared on the screen in 1931. Her face was modeled after the famous singer Helen Kane and her body after Mae West. In 1935, a comic strip was started. Her dog was named Bimbo. Although the Betty Boop cartoons ended by 1938, there was a revival of interest in the Betty Boop image in the 1980s and new pieces are being made.

From the 1930's this Betty Boop Tea Set features characters such as Bimbo and Koko the clown and of course the beautiful Betty Boop with her blond hair! Yes i did say BLOND HAIR! This stunning set includes 21 pieces made of beautiful porcelain and the original box. As noted before the box needs a little work, But it is able to be repaired by the buyer or a professional. Amazingly the box even has the original label from Nifty Toys! The actual tea set includes 6 tea cups, 11 plates, 1 beautiful Tea Pot with lid, 1 Sugar bowl with lid,1 creamer and another small lid for a different piece that technically makes this set 21 pieces.. The only damage includes normal wear and tear on a few pieces from being played with by a child. A very small chip on 1 plate. Some pieces exhibit no visible damage at all. I will show detailed pictures of all the items if you request them. If you want to add that one piece to your Betty Boop collection that will make your friends drool this is it! This tea set is very rare and very beautiful!

I am selling it for $1200. A set of 10 sells for $800 at "Kovels' I guess it would of been smart to add a price on the first post. I thought i had a price on it.
