For those of you who understand what an RSS feed is, the forums now supports it. You can add an RSS feed to this forum by referencing the RSS link on the bottom of the page.
Additionally, if you're using Firefox as a browser, you'll see the little orange RSS icon whenever you visit the forums. You can then add it as a live feed.

RSS = Really Simple Syndication
Read what it is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(file_format)
Simply, users can now passively receive new content from the forums. For example, if a user adds the RSS feed to their Firefox browser or My Yahoo!, whenever they launch either one of them, they'll see a snippet of newer posts from the forums. Clicking on one of those snippets will link them to the post in the forums. It's like going to CNN.com and clicking on one of the links.

These RSS feeds provide a way for users to passively receive newly released content (such as text, web pages, sound files, or other media); this might be the full content itself or just a link to it, possibly with a summary or other metadata (data describing the content).

Most people are interested in many websites whose content changes on an unpredictable schedule. Examples of such websites are news sites, community and religious organization information pages, product information pages, medical websites, and weblogs. Repeatedly checking each website to see if there is any new content can be very tedious.
Email notification of changes was an early solution to this problem. Unfortunately, when you receive email notifications from multiple websites they are usually disorganized and can get overwhelming, and are often mistaken for spam.
RSS is a better way to be notified of new and changed content. Notifications of changes to multiple websites are handled easily, and the results are presented to you well organized and distinct from email.
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a way to easily distribute a list of headlines, update notices, and sometimes content to a wide number of people. It is used by computer programs that organize those headlines and notices for easy reading.
I think there are classes in place for those who want to undate / upgrade.
