well people i did some research and this was a report i found on Mae questel made just after her recent death:

Mae Questel, voice of Betty Boop and Olive Oyl, dies
NEW YORK (AP)-- Mae Questel, who provided the loopy, childlike voice of cartoon characters Betty Boop and Olive Oyl, has died at 89.

Questel, who died Sunday, Jan. 4, 1998, at her home, was a veteran of stage, screen and vaudeville. She played Woody Allen's intrusive, omnipresent mother in "New York Stories."

Born in the Bronx, Questel was discovered at 17 when she was signed to perform on the vaudeville circuit. She did imitations of popular performers such as Maurice Chevalier, Marlene Dietrich and Rudy Vallee.

When animator Max Fleischer heard one of Questel's performances, he signed her to take over the squeaky voice of Betty Boop. The sound was actually modeled on the voice of another actress, Helen Kane, who created a sensation on Broadway in 1928 with a "boop-boop-a-doop" rendition of the hit song "I Wanna Be Loved by You."

During her eight years as the voice of Betty Boop, Questel was in more than 150 cartoon shorts. Her recording of "On the Good Ship Lollipop" -- in Betty Boop's voice-- sold more than 2 million copies.

The Betty Boop character was retired in 1939, but Questel returned to the character when Betty appeared in the 1988 movie "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."

In 1933, Questel created the voices of Olive Oyl and Sweet Pea for the "Popeye" cartoons.

Among her Broadway plays were "Dr. Social" in 1948 and "Enter Laughing" in 1963.

In addition to "New York Stories," Questel appeared in the film version of "Funny Girl" in 1968.

She is survived by a son and three granddaughters

Here is some more information about the great mae questel.

she like had this mimic ability, where she could mimic animals which lead her to doing sounds of such animals like duck, dog, chicken, owl, monkey, lion and baby sounds for radio shows.

She was promptly signed by an agent and began performing in the Vaudeville circuit. Billing herself as "Mae Questel - Personality Singer of Personality Songs," she performed dead-on vocal imitations of Maurice Chevalier, Eddie Cantor, Fanny Brice, Marlene Dietrich, Mae West and of course Helen Kane, among many others.

Here this should Exsplain everything perfectly. she first does her Marlene Dietrich Imitation, then Maurice Chevalier, and then She performs a Song called Button up your overcoat, aka her Helen kane imitation ( Betty Boop) voice. also the reason why i am adding this is basically becuse it links to the story i have above. which proves its true she did begin performing in Vaudeville.

that must have been from a long time ago, ive never heard of any live interviews but some might be unknown so mabey your right.
well ive found some information on her actual live apperences just so everyone knows.

mae questel appeared on the The Bob Newhart Show in (1961)

In (1962) she made another tv apperence on a show called The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

mae questel also appeared in Roger Rabbit and the Secrets of Toon Town (1988) where she told a tiny bit about herself and how she had entered a contest. ( Helen kane contest) she didnt mention the name of the contest but it was a helen kane lookalike-soundalike contest.

she appeared in The 51st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in (1999)
now i was around in 1999 but i cant remember anything about that show also its nowhere to be seen online so i guess i wouldnt have known what would have happend.

mae questel made many more apperences on radio and many things she lived the life of Betty Boop she said, and she had to snap herself out of it.

its a shame she doesnt get great credit..... is it becuse she was a woman?
i feel sorry for her..... becuse she really should be classed as one of the best female voice actresses.

she wasnt only Betty Boop, She was Little lulu, Little Audrey, Casper ( i think)
Felix, Olive oyl and she was many many many other cartoon characters.

and thats about it thats mae questels filmography, also to note she was the main person who had did the role of betty boop many times, like said before she didnt do all the voices.

but she did do many. also mae questel was the one who had landed the role on the Betty Boop Fables Radio Show. although for some reason sometimes the radio show was called Betty Boop's Frolics.

i know little ann little was a RKO discovery at one point, but mae questel was the most loved voice and its stated that mae questel had done the role for the radio show.

mae questel had been on many radio shows over the years and continued over her years.

and thats about it. if i find any more news i will be sre to share it, but this is everything of a great actress, whos mostly remembered for the voice of betty boop. also she used to pose as betty for the animators. while they were drawing the cartoons.

yet she was too busy to do the role for the romance of betty boop, she went to play woody allens mother, also she recorded a full song called Chameleon Days for the woody allens movie Zelig and it only plays at the ending in a full version, the tiny clip version plays in the middle of the movie. but its her betty boop voice alright.

i also read she continued to voice olive oyl and betty boop in commertials..
her last role as Betty Boop was in Who framed Roger rabbit.

also when i added her Betty Boop filmography, i only added the voice roles she did, the ones she didnt do were left out :)

oh and i forgot to add, Mae Questel had started voicing Betty Boop from 1931,

she was seen earlier by max fleischer around the time when she had entered the Helen kane contest or when she was performing on vaudeville. i think he later caught up with her and asked her about the role of his animated character.

i think her parents were against her doing voice acting but they eventually let her continue.

little ann little was also signed up in 1931 and would sometimes voice betty, but by 1933 she left and went to tour as Betty Boop in person.

and somehow kate wright & bonnie poe were signed up. everyone must have been very busy, mae questel came back and fourth...... but ended doing many of the voices from 1934 - 1935 - 1936 - 1937, until she did her last roles in (1938)

then mae Refused to move becuse the fleischer studios were moving.

so then she was replaced by bonnie poe for a short while, then kate wright, then Margie hines took over from Sally Swing.

Buzzy Boop and the concert is lost so its unknown if margie hines started from that cartoon.

although what is known is that kate wright did the roles for Pudgy the watchman, Pudgy & the lost kitten & Buzzy Boop.

anyway out of the original voice castings mae questel did get to finish voicing Betty Boop, in Who framed Roger rabbit.

and betty boop was back to her old self, although she did say work had been kinda slow since cartoons went to colour, but i still got it Eddy! Boo Boo Be Doo ooop!

and it seems jessica rabbit took the limelight.

but jessica doesnt sell that well, its betty who sells as a major icon hehe!

ok this post is finished now :)
