Well I'm almost as old as Betty Boop (70's) and Harley (100) actually I'm 53 years old.

My husband bought me a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle. It will be ready for me to pick up this Saturday!!! I am very excited!!!

I will post a picture when I get it!!! I'm excited!!!

Just goes to show you're never too old.. ha ha!!

Here's a picture of my new Harley. I start motorcycle rider classes on Monday June 30. It's a 3 day class... 21 hours of training. So hopefully I will be able to get my motorcycle license soon.

Hey BikerBettyBoop! Congratulations on your new ride. And a late happy birthday! Riding is SO fun, isn't it? I started riding in 1982, but I stopped when I got divorced. I hadn't ridden in about 15 years, but I've started up again this month. I love it! I just bought a 750 Shadow for myself, American Classic Edition. It's burgundy and cream. I love it!

If we lived closer we could go on Booper rides together, lol.

Where in California are you? Sounds like a nice bike!! Glad to hear you got back into riding. This is a whole new experience for me. I've always been a passenger so I'm having a blast doing it all myself. It can be a little scarey sometimes so I'm trying to be extra safe out there. I put some Betty Boop bags on and they look really good! Already used them to carry some stuff home from the store!

Hi. I'm glad you had a great birthday. Your certainly got an awesome present.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
This seems to be a mecca for motorcycle enthusiasts!

My fiance is from New York and he's in biker heaven! We can ride most months out of the year because of the great climate, and in New York he could only ride 3 months out of the year.

It's a little scarey at first, but practice makes perfect! Soon you'll be feeling comfortable and easy with it, it will be second nature, and the fear will go away. I'm still a little nervous since it's been so long, but I gain more confidence with each ride. I challenge myself with each ride and go to more challenging places. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know that soon I'll be in the comfort zone, and then it'll be smooth riding!

I'm 48, so we're in the same age group. I hope to "talk" to you soon.

Maybe if you take a ride to California, or I make it to your neck of the woods (is it Arizona?) we might be able to go on a ride together. I have BB etched onto my windshield with roses and you have BB bags...we'd be the Booper Bikers! Sounds kinda fun, doesn't it?

Sounds like you have a nice Honda. I've been riding my Harley more and more and like you said it's an adventure every time!!

Yesterday I decided to ride to the bank and get some gas in it and I heard something rattling and couldn't figure out what it was.. I mean this is a new bike and all (less than 500 miles on it) so you can imagine my surprise when as I was making a left turn and leaning into it, my seat suddenly turned sideways too... talk about something freaky.

That rattling noise I heard was the thumb screw that holds the seat onto the bike frame had come loose and bounced on the license plate and onto the road.

I pulled into the gas station and called my husband to bring me a screw! How funny is that! Guess I now have to put "check for loose screws" on my regular ride check list! ha ha!!!

I've had a couple weird things happen but have managed to keep my wits about me and "ride them out". Betty would be proud... ha!!

Are you aware of the Betty Boop Motorcycle Club? I'm the president of the club!!! You should be a member since you ride too! Go to ClubBetty.com and you'll see the link for the membership.

I lived in Palo Alto for a few years when I went to college up there in the early 70's. I always liked going to San Francisco... I used to go to Filmore West and caught some great concerts there. They'd have rehearsals on Thursday nights and students got in really cheap. I saw Janice Joplin and Chuck Berry and lots of other rock acts! Those were the days.

We're living in the Prescott area of Arizona. Are you familiar with it? I'd love to have some Biker Betty Boop rides and rallys but know it would be a lot of work. We have lots of places to ride around here!!! I'm having a blast!!!

We belong to a club called The Freedom Cruisers. Have you heard of it? Do they have a chapter in Arizona?

Well, Don and I MUST take a ride out to Arizona sometime! It would be so cool to ride with you and your hubby!

When we get married next year, we're going to have kind of a biker wedding. I have visions of riding off on the Dragon at the end of the day.... There will be lots of bikers there....

When I got the notice that you'd posted, I realized that this is all posting on the Boopsie-Cola's Birthday thread.

Since I'd love to continue talking about motorcycle stuff with you, and since we are definately roaming away from the original message of this thread, may I suggest a thread change?

I think I will start a new thread I'll call "Betty Boop's Motorcycle Corner". Then any and all biker Boopers can go there to post ideas about BB and motorcycles and all such related ideas.

Since I have been stirring up a little trouble here lately with roaming from the topics and am risking a "ticket", I think I'd better do this. This is the third thread that I've moved, but I want to stay out of trouble, at least for the moment. Guess I'm not such a rebel after all....:rolleyes:

So, what'dya say?

wow, this is an old thread. Boopsie-cola and DEADPOOL haven't been on the forum for a long time, i think they have busy lives with college and stuff. Mod's stay mods unless they do something that means they get the job taken from them. i don't think this has happened yet and i hope it never will! i'm not sure when new mod's are chosen!
