I recently saw The Breakfast Club again, and I'm really into the song 'Don't you forget about me' from the Simple Minds. That's one soundtrack I'll never forget again!
Do you have the same experience with a movie and its soundtrack?

I read the books, was very disappointed in both movies, they didn't follow the books. Music was good in both films though.

I agree wholeheartedly that 'Grease' and 'Saturday Night Fever' are fabulous.
How about more modern ones like 'Chicago'. It and many others are goodies .
And it is hard to top the popularity over a very long time span the soundtrack from the 'sleeper' film 'Flashdance'.
i love grease and the breakfast club know all the words to grease dirty dancing quite good too

I'm too old to enjoy the goth music... my husband and I recently heard a young woman named Tamara here in our town and she was dressed goth and sang goth but it was difficult for me to comprehend and understand the lyrics. I'm into bluegrass gospel and it is soooo different from goth music. But that's what makes the world go around... something for everyone!!

you are never too old to enjoy any type of music as you say it is each to their own it'd be boring if we all liked the same i do have a varied taste in music i have phantom of the opera on cd as well as war of the worlds and then i have heavy rock and country and goth pop and chillout classical i like a variation u can match your mood then

Yes, I agree ... variation is the key to music enjoyment. We pretty much like music from the 1960's to the present.. mostly country, mellow rock, adult contemporary, gospel and blue grass... and that pretty much keeps us in listeners paradise!!

Great music lives on forever. I love 20s and 30s pop music (The best pop era ever in the USA so they say.) and I wasn't born yet. That music is still played now.

I don't know there area few songs from the early 90's that I still enjoy. But after about 1993 or so it got to be to much rap. Can't stand that stuff. I have noticed that the newer music is getting back to the more mellow style. Plus a lot of groups are re-making songs from the 70's, 80's and early 90's.

GREAT. I hope the Bone headed young kids who are blasting noise from their cars here learn that. But I doubt they would recognize music if it hit them in the face.

I understand that one. We have them around here to. But look at it this way. By the time their in the 30's their going to be partially deaf or completley deaf because they think their invinsible and don't need to wear hearing protection. So end the end they'll get what they deserve. What goes around comes around 10 fold.

hey, i got a good one for ya........I love: "To Wong Fu, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar". That's actually the real name of the movie. It may have been some kind of obscure movie because most people I talk to never heard of it. But anyway, you have to check it out....Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, John Leguizamo all play Drag Queens! It sounds bizarre but it is actually a funny film but it also celebrates the diversity of people and how these "colorful" drag queens happen to get stuck in this small town and how they bring it to life. It really celebrates so much of the human condition. I am a totally hetero female and this film taught me a lot about being a woman. My point is that the soundtrack is also great. It helps me to celebrate life and makes me feel good about being a woman! My daughter and I still say quotes to each other that were said in this film. A real feel good movie.

HAH. Remember I grew up with Broadway. When Broadway musicals are made into movies I've almost always preferred the recording from Broadway. However movies are not always from Broadway musicals. Two favorites that quickly come to mind are 'Born Free' and 'Hawaii'.
