We didn't get any strawberries either.. only 1 or 2... same way with the cherry trees.. I have 3 trees and we got about 5 cherries all total. I'm using drip irrigation on my trees cause I don't want them to die... too many months without rain.

March 13, 2006 was the last day there was measurable rain in Prescott, AZ. That ended the 100+ days of no rain for Prescott... we are about 30 miles away and we have not gotten any rain... so it's been several months without rain.

It's been far too long. Fortunately we live in grasslands so if there is a wild fire it shouldn't be too threatening to us but I worry about those folks who live up in the areas with pine trees.... everything is just so dry!

06-07-2006, 11:51 AM
Theresa, before I forget, if you are at all curious at what is happening (per remodeling) at Del Amo Fashion Center Mall, CHECK OUT www.delamocenter.com

Pray for rain for us... the spatterings we got earlier turned into nothing.. just made the windows messy! It has cooled down our temps though.

Thanks Lowell for the link to the Del Amo Center ... but it's a confusing page.. I can't find the Del Amo Center. Help?

wow... 300 million dollar revitalization... that's great!! I bet the rent is going to skyrocket for retailers there!!

I just viewed the slide show of the construction. Wow.. it looks awesome... It looks like the mall still open during this construction phase as they work on new parts of it.

It's going to be huge!!

Yes, it means a lot including more traffic.
Remember years ago Del Amo was the largest Mall in the country. Well it no longer is. Plus it was outdone by the wonderful South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa (which I love). Well Del Amo is about to reclaim some of its fame.
What I love is I'll have new AMC theaters, outdoor restaurants, fancy restaurants, super retail establishments all within walking distance. (I live only 1/2 mile from there.
Oh, this will be the 3rd group of modern AMC theaters near me.

It sounds like it will be a wonderful and enjoyable place to shop and visit. We have a mall in Prescott but it is quite small... Sears, Pennys, and one other large store (but small actually) but it's a nice place to shop.

lowellahoward
06-07-2006, 01:21 PM
I have to say, although I dread the onslaught of new traffic, I am really looking forward to it.

Bikerbettyboop

Remember trees and plants take in Carbon Dioxide and release Oxygen. Not enuf plants is death to life.

I'm a big supporter of trees!! I planted one on 9/11/01 that is taller than our house now!! I love trees and plants and botany!! Every house should have at least one tree!! I've planted lots of trees as memorials too.. I have trees that were planted for my dad, grandfather and other family members as well as friends too!

One of the reasons I bought this condo was the beautiful trees and landscaping on the property compared to others.

With the high temperatures in AZ if the hunidity was high it would really be unpleasant. But the trouble with very dry is Fire danger. And that awful season (Fire danger) is here NOW in California as well.

Yes, humidity always makes people unpleasant. That's the point why I don't like the weather in Taiwan, especially in summer.~~~:(

Belize has a reputation when it comes to botanical gardens.

Take a peek...http://www.belizebotanic.org/

I love Mangoes; I am not talking about the exotic mangoes, but the local varieties: number 11, the blue mangoes the common mangoes. We have one that we call "Chachui", that is the nicest mango you can ever have. It is a very small mango and you can pop it into your mouth like a plum. The skin is very thin, and they are so sweet. They are green, very seldom they will grow with a little bit of red on it. I love my local Mangoes.

I love all fruit, I also love craboo. A lot of people do not like craboo, because it is so high in aroma, but I love it. I eat all the fruits that are grown in Belize like bananas, papayas and pineapples.

If I lived in Belize, my choice of plants would inevitably be different than now to a large degree. I think I would need a lot of space for a very large garden. Then again, maybe I wouldn't even need my own garden because of the natural landscaping of Belize itself. Looks so beautiful.

California is a major grower of rice in this country. The Sacramento Valley has many different types of rice growing.
While Long Grain is the popular rice here (and I would suspect in China) I myself like the shorter grain 'Rose' Rice (Japanese) grown here. I also prefer the natural brown rather than white rice.

Natural brown rice is much more healthier than white rice since brown rice contains much more nutrition. However, the taste between natural brown rice and white rice are pretty different since brown rice need to be chewed a lot.

Yes and I like that.
The brown rice has a 'nutty flavor' more nutrition and fiber. But most people still prefer the outer layer removed white rice.

This "STICKY" is on the front page of the forum.
Very Important!!! Please Read!

I've been noticing a very bad trend here. Members have been creating multiple screen names so that they can:

increase their chances when entering giveaways
award Reputation Points to themselves
fool other members

BE FOREWARNED, from this point on, any member caught will be banned from this site, banned from entering giveaways & receiving prizes. This type of deceitful behavior and sportsmanship will not be tolerated here in the forums.

Can I edit my own posts?
If you have registered, you will be able to edit and delete your posts. Note that the administrator can disable this ability as he desires. Your ability to edit your posts may also be time-limited, depending on how the administrator has set up the forum.

To edit or delete your posts, click the button by the post you want to edit. If your post was the first in the thread, then deleting the post may result in the removal of the entire thread.

After you have made your modifications, a note may appear, which notifies other users that you have edited your post. Administrators and moderators may also edit your messages but this note may not appear when they do so.

We were talking about edits earlier

That privilege was taken away a while back.
Boopers like me who buck every now and again...were among some of the reasons it was taken.
I forgot who the poster was...but she / he logged on and said negative things and then would go back and delete them...and when the moderators would go back to the scene of the incident...it will have been eradicated (erased)...and there was no proof that the complainer actually saw what he / she actually saw.

SO that luxury was removed!
