Hey
i was looking for suggestions on a tattoo. This tattoo would be in honor of a friend of mine, a fellow betty boop lover, who died in a car crash. :(
I really want to get a betty boop tattoo in honor of her, but i don't know what betty boop picture i want. help pleeze?!?:confused:

Wow that sounds like a lot of tattoos. Glad that some are of Betty... I'm curious though... I'm a woman who rides a motorcycle and I'm wondering why you chose a nude image of Betty on a motorbike?

Your tat doesn't sound too bad... it just drives me mad (your name) when I see what some people do with nude images of Betty Boop. After all, it is a licensed image that is owned by King Features and some people just go way too far ( in my conservative opinion ) to really destroy that beautiful image of Betty. But hey, I'm just a crazy old lady who can be pretty outspoken sometimes, so please don't take offense to my opinion.

I know that you must love Betty Boop too to have tattoos of her on your body. :)

I like your avitar... all the Betty Boop motorcycle images are among my favorite and I understand that you say it makes you feel like a free spirit to have depicted her undressed. I think she is a free spirit fully clothed and riding a motorcycle.

Well thank you. I didn't really bleed that much when I was having it done, so I'm healing fast. So far it hasn't itched really bad. As long as I keep the ointment on it I should be good.

hi me again hey biker bettyboop i didn't take offence hun i'm a pretty easy going person just thought i'd explain about it i don't own a bike but go to rallies and most of my best mates r bikers wished i lived in usa then i could go to sturgis or daytona we have bulldog and kent custom but they nothing like those
my betty tatto on my back was painful there again it took three sittings to finish as i fell pregnant in between sittings and u not supposed to have tatts when pregnant tho i wasn't aware of being pregnant on the second sitting which is y it hurt more tho saying that she does take up the whole of the left side of my back soon as i can i'll post some pics different people different pain thresholds i have ten tatts now and am planning my next one which is in memoriam to all my friends and family who have passed on

I ride a Harley but don't have any tattoos. I haven't been to Sturgis or Daytona.... I have been to 4 Corners (Durango, Colorado) and the Laughlin River Run (85,000 motorcycles were at the last one this past April)

Your tattoo does indeed sound painful and that's why I know I'll never be able to get one. I have a low threshold for pain! But good for you for getting them.

I'm not going to argue with anyone about this... Betty Boop's image is not here for us to change as we see fit. None of us own her image. Her image is owned solely by King Features and they have chosen not to reproduce her as a nude. (MGCHAN is the administrator of this forum and this is his comment regarding this subject: Sure Betty Boop is beautiful, we just don't believe it's appropriate to have her shown nude.)

So I am in complete agreement with King Features and the way they want to preserve her image. I just don't feel that it's appropriate to show her nude. Artists, whoever they may be, should not take liberty with her image.

I understand all the lagistics of King Co. I just don't agree with everything. If we all agreed wouldn't we just be stepford wives?
All I am saying is that Betty is not pure. In her cartoons, even real old ones, she is very provocative and i believe she can be down right sleazy. This so called image she has can be construed in different ways. Betty has many different sides to her.......as do we all.
I think King doesn't want her nude because people can take that and exaggerate it so they have to have limits and boundaries as to how far they will go. That makes sense. We are the ones, personally, that can take her out of the boundaries if we want. I prefer to see betty in all different ways, not just the way King wants me to. I watch a cartoon or read a comic and I see things the way I interpret them. If someone chooses to put that interpretation on paper or in words thats their right. I actually think I have a better image of Betty in my own mind than the image that King projects.

Hi MAD.. you didn't start any wars over Betty...I think it's fair to say that you are just sharing with us why you chose the image for your tattoo that you did.

I'm not upset about it nor has it caused bad feelings or arguements. We all just have strong feelings about Betty Boop. Some of us are more vocal about it than others.

All I'm trying to say is that even though some of us may think differently, we DO NOT own the Betty Boop image and we don't have the liberty to change that image. She is NOT ours to manipulate and change.

She belongs to King Features just like the Harley-Davidson image belongs to Harley-Davidson Motor Company and Mickey Mouse belongs to Disney.

So it is not right, in my opinion, to take Betty Boop and modify her into something that we'd like to see her be. And I'm not just talking about nude images... any image of her that didn't originate with King Features is not right in my book.

As a retailer of licensed Betty Boop products, I'm always excited to see which new image Betty Boop's character is going to become with new product releases. King Features knows Betty Boop better than any of us ever will and they have never let me down yet.

Hey you don't have to apologize. I was actually agreeing more with the part about the human body.

I have a t-shirt somewhere of betty laying on her stomach with nothing on and above her it says OOPSESSION. I love that picture. It's not a bad picture. The only thing is shows is one side of her. nothing um how do I say it... nothing naughty.

I agree that the completely nude showing it all to the world is not Betty. Yes betty is provacative and that's what I like about her.

The human body is a beautiful and wonderous thing, I beleive we should all embrass what we have and love ourselves.

Okay now on to another subject. My tattoo is itching so bad. All i want to do is scratch it but I'm not. lol

I love the idea that my Betty drawings are tattooed on so many women... theories of sympathetic magic or quantum connectedness come into play. The same year, '85, that KFS hired me to be the official updater of BB, a certain motorcycle magazine... which now has a whole family of tattoo magazine spinoffs... hired me to illustrate fiction. Before that, although I've never personally tattooed anyone, I did some design assistant work for Spider Webb, who was THE guy who got his designs into galleries and made tattoos at least conceivable as 'fine art'...

the one i thought of was my fav pose the marylin pose or it's also called skirt blowing, but i've also thought of not gettin a betty tattoo at all because there are so many out there and i like being different and having my own style so i thought of a wonder woman tattoo, and i have 2 self designed tattoos in mind now i just need to figure out which one i want first lol oh one of the self designed ones is one to match my husbands tattoo he has a sumo wrestler that says big island sumo i'll have to find the disc with the pic of it on it and upload it it's really cool i love it, but to match it i'm gonna have a geisha girl and use my nick name i use for almost all of my comp ID's.

I am a junior goth so I wouldn't mind one of her with a bat perched on her shoulder or something, I also design my own art images of Betty, and did a 'Super Booper' pic (taken from ABBA's Super Trouper song). The blonde ABBA member Agnetha's outfit was what I based Betty's outfit on.
I would also like a Biker Betty Boop tattoo if I manage to fit it on along with the other 2, but who knows what I'll want in 9 years time?!
