I'm not sure of the tune's title. I'll try to find out.
Musical Mountaineers parodied the (serious and bloody) Hatfield/McCoy feud in the early 20th century (round about 1908 I think). Betty is captuered by "the Peters" who are feuding with the Hatfields. It's not clear why the name of one family is changed and the other is not.
The song to which Betty dances is sung by "the Hatfields." This is the 1930s bluegrass group named after this famous family. It's not clear whether any of the group members were decendents of the Hatfield feuders.
I have this cartoon, but the soundtrack is a bit degraded and it's difficult to make out the words, which are sung very fast with a strong accent. Possibly someone with a better knowlege of bluegrass music would know this.
Unfortunately the lyrics and title for this one are not on the heptune site.

I forgot - the cast list for the film also includes Zonk Peters - presumably he voiced the hillbillies and possibly also joined in the singing. I haven't been able to find out much about him. There was a film company called Zonk Peters Productions, but I don't know if there was any connection.
However, it possibly explains why the feuding families in the film were the Hatfields and the Peters.

The song is "Who Cares." It starts "There ain't no gold in them that hills." I can't find the rest of the words, but I recall one hillbilly claiming to be 108 (who cares) and another (female) having hair so long it touched the ground (who cares).

Great music and a very pretty Betty. Good social comment on the vicious Hatfield/McCoy feud.
But ultimately not a particularly good cartoon. Betty is pretty and untouchable, like a graceful Ming Dynasty vase. The caricature of the rural bible-belt right as violent, brutal and primitive was far too obvious.
I watched Dizzy Red Riding Hood after Musical Mountaineers. Now that is Betty Boop!

like the moocher says, the song is actually called (who cares). its funny becuse at the begging of this Cartoon Betty is riding in her Automobile with the Same Song from So does an Automobile, so mabey this cartoon is a prequal of say ( what happend Next?). I think Betty had seen a few of the character's from this cartoon in the (1938) Cartoon Be Up to Date. Apart from everything else Bettys Voice/Singing Voice is provided By Margie Hines in this Cartoon im really not sure about the rest of the character's voice cast.

The song is "Them Thar Hills," and was performed
by Mae Questel and Herman's Mountaineers.
The lyrics are as follows:
There ain't no gold in them thar hills, it's mighty cold in them thar hills.
Who cares, who cares? I got a brand new pipe.
He smokes and smokes in them thar hills, we can all tell jokes in them thar hills.
Who cares, who cares? And he's got a plug to chew.
She chews all day in them thar hills, she don't care much about fuss or frills.
Who cares, who cares? (........)
He blows all day in them thar hills, he don't care nothing 'bout (.......)
Who cares, who cares?
Her hair's so long it reach the ground, she takes two steps and she falls right down.
Who cares, who cares?
Hey, hey, hey. He, he, he. Next year I'll be a hundred and three.
Who cares, who cares?
Long as we can laugh and sing, O who cares?

Now thats the lyrics thank you :D
Minus it was performed by Margie Hines, Not Mae Questel.
Mae Questel Quit voicing Betty Boop from (1938) so Margie Hines took her place and finished the series from (1938) - (1939).
Hmm lets see if i can find a picture of Margie Hines....
Oh here's One :) of Margie & Jack Mercer when they were married hehe <3
