do you have betty boop jackets for men?
That is a very good question. I've only seen them for women. I wonder if they do make them for men.

Hi Boopcrazy... I apologize for not responding to this thread... I've only recently come back to visit the forum full time... been so busy with the business, I'm now trying to enjoy a summer break.
Thank you for asking about paying with a money order. Yes, we accept checks, money orders and Pay Pal for purchases from the website.
The website accepts all the major credit cards and check debit cards too.
Just put the items you want into the shopping cart, proceed with check out and enter your shipping info (so the shipping charges can be calculated) then print out the order and mail it with your payment to:
Club Betty
P.O. Box 518
Paulden, AZ 86334-0518
Thank you! And again I apologize for not seeing this sooner.

do you have betty boop jackets for men?
There is a leather and wool jacket BBW01 that is sized for men at Clubbetty.com and I think there are probably other men's' jackets available from other sources.

Life is ok Neckless, thanks for asking... yesterday was a sad day though. One of my uncles' passed away. He is a WWII veteran. My grandmother is taking it very hard. She went to bed and hasn't gotten up yet. We fear she may not. I called and asked her pastor to go speak with her and he told me that she is having a very difficult time. I may go down to Tucson to see her. She was in such good spirits last weekend and now this...

I spoke with my grandmother last evening. She is doing better. Her pastor, friends from church and the neighborhood and her doctor have all visited her and convinced her to get out of bed and receive visitors. She said they have brought her covered dishes, cakes, pies, fruit and lots of flowers and cards.
I am so thankful to all these wonderful people for the love and support they are giving her. Don and I plan to go see her this weekend.

You do indeed have good reason to be exceptionally proud of this very devoted, dedicated man. He will be greatly missed.
Granny will just need time to go through the different stages. You all stay beside her and keep her spirits up as best you can. IT takes everybody pulling together...the same direction for a fallen one to get back up!
Here in Boopland we offer our heartfelt condolences!

None of our cactus plants get all that large here because of our freezing winter temps and we don't get the blazing hot temps that they get down south. The biggest one I've seen is about 2 feet tall though... it's a monster down by my sister's house. I told her I'm going to dig it up because it is threatening.
You know the nickname is jumping cactus... and for a good reason. They are nasty... but all cactus and rose bushes and other plants for that matter can be threatening and nasty if not treated with respect.
I can honestly say that I've gotten more "stickers" from my roses than I have from cactus cause I'm just more careful around cactus.. or is it respectful? LOL!!

I know what you mean... some of those cactus can cause pain and have an aftershock too.
Yesterday I got stung by a stupid red ant and my leg is still red and swollen where it got me! So I don't know which is worse? Cactus, roses or red fire ants?
lowellahoward
07-10-2006, 12:52 PM
AHA. Red fire ants can be real bad from what the papers have said here. I know that a couple of my cacti have given me a bad reaction when stung. Like I've had serious pain in area for 2 to 3 weeks.

we're having a lot of problems with the red ants... they seem to be everywhere.. not enough rain to flood them out and they are killing the native Arizona black ants and just take over. They can strip a garden clean in no time... same way with trees. I try to stay on top of them but when I get rid of one ant hill, 3 more appear!!

I wondered about that... you were wise to build it using that material. We have wood decks around our house and sometimes we've gotten some nasty splinters... that's just the risk of using wood for these projects.
Plastic is a much better idea! 2 thumbs up Richard!!

Thank you both and you're both welcome for the thank you gifts.
Figurine #6780 is not a Coke licensed item, so please don't think that it is. It has Betty as a carhop standing on what resembles a Coke bottle cap but it actually says Boop Cola on the cap.
It's a very cute item.

I have some friends who are into it... it's like treasure hunting.. but when you find the cache, you take something out and put something back in... sort of like an exchange. They've bought several Betty Boop trinkets from me that they've left in caches all around the country!! I think it would be fun!

They also belong to a group that leaves books around in public places so people can take them and then post them on a website with a number so the person who gave it away can see where it's gone. They've given away books that have gone all around the world. I can't remember the name of the website though. I'll have to find it.

Hah, wait 'til it gets bigger. And believe me there are many a lot worse. The Prickly Pear is in OPUNTIA family. I have an Opuntia Subulata which has 3 inch very thick needles up and down it. You can not touch it...... PERIOD!

The 'sap' of Euphorbias (one of my favorite succulent varieties) is toxic to a varying degree. I have probably 80 or so Euphorbias. But you have to be careful when handling. The sap can not get into an open wound or your eyes etc. They arre magnificent plants.

richard kolasch
07-31-2006, 11:37 AM
no not yet,we are still looking.
the prickly pear cactus is turning to yellow color.
is it drying out?
lowellahoward
07-31-2006, 11:58 AM
Drying out won't do that. Is it the whole plant or just part? I have had parts of Opuntias do that (normally). One part of my little Prickly Pear from Theresa was that way when I received it and still is. (I wan't concerned)) The rest looks good and has grown somewhat.
Bikerbettyboop
07-31-2006, 12:58 PM
It could be too much water... is it shriveled? Is it just one pad or the whole plant?
richard kolasch
07-31-2006, 01:03 PM
only part of its pad is turning.i only water them once a week.
the others are OK.
richard kolasch

no the prickly pear is not shrivfled.some of it still green.

I am puzzled as to why you are having so many problems with the prickly pears... cactus should be relatively easy to care for.
lowellahoward
08-01-2006, 10:54 AM
Prickly pears are amongst the easiest cacti to grow. But, it is possible that it doesn't care for the MO climate........
Bikerbettyboop
08-01-2006, 11:48 AM
It is entirely possible that it doesn't like the humidity or too much rain/water?

I DONT DO JACK TO MY CACTI
Bikerbettyboop
08-01-2006, 01:56 PM
I don't either... they just grow naturally here.. I have some in pots that I do water from time to time but not very often.
lowellahoward
08-01-2006, 04:36 PM
In AZ the ones you have are in Habitat. Namely, that is their natural environs.
So it doesn't take anything special to grow them there.
In CA it is reasonably easy to duplicate natural environments for most cacti and succulents. But that isn't true for MO.
