This short aired on AMC in 1995 on a "Betty Boop 65th Birthday" special hosted by Richard Fleischer (Max's son). In introducing the short, Richard identified the woman playing Betty as "consummate flapper" Helen Kane, but that seems to be wrong (especially since Helen Kane was suing Paramount and Max Fleischer around the same time).

After "Dizzy Dishes" premiered, Paramount, who distributed Fleischer productions, held an audition for a girl to do the voice for the new character. Ann was chosen from among many other girls and provided the voice for a few cartoons before going on the road with a Betty Boop vaudeville act. The act consisted, in part, of a drawing demonstration by Pauline Comanor, a "movie cartoonist" who drew Ann as Betty and handed out the drawings to lucky audience members

Annette Hanshaw was one of the first great female jazz singers. In the late 1920s she ranked alongside Ethel Waters, Bessie Smith and the Boswell Sisters. She also Did a Few Boopish Styled Songs in 1929, Mostly as a joke becuse she was friends with helen kane. she was renamed Gay Ellis (for sentimental numbers) and Dot Dare or Patsy Young (for her Helen Kane impersonations, Yes its Confusing :confused: Most Mistaken her For Helen Kane anyway xD, but i can tell the diffrences

It is Stated on the back of the Record i have that her name is Kathryn Wright, while reading on a List it States Her name is catherine Wright, which is pretty weird, but you know them days they always changed their names

It is unknown, but she did not do any title sequences. So her voice might be heard in the following betty Boop Cartoons.

Baby esther was the first Boop Oop a Dooper

Fleischer Studios Defended theirself from helen kanes lawsuit by Screening a film of african american entertainer Baby Esther singing a song with the lyrics ;)Boop Oop a Doop;) which had become th signature of betty boops phrase. Baby Esthers manager als testified that Helen Kane and her manager saw baby esthers cabaret act in 1929

Soon after in 1929 helen kanes song was released where she had Sang Do Something with utter the Words Boop Boop a Doop, And Boop Oop a Doop

It seems to state margie hines name as marjorie hines seems all the voice actors of betty boop loved to keep changing their names take kate wright for example she called herself Catherine wright/ Kathryn wright and also kate wright

They must use Stage names

And Helen kanes original name was Helen Schroeder , after her divorce she still kept her stage name Helen Kane i know helen kane did not voice betty boop But she still was a Boop Boop a Dooper ;)

Kate Wright and Little ann rothschild dont seem to be in any of the photos even though they also was in the trial, but they appeared in the fleischer victory newsreel

This was one of a companys crafty attemps to cash in on helen kanes popularity. the mystery girl recorded as an ********* recorded for a rival record company hoping buyers would confuse the mystery girls songs with helen kanes. so many few sides were released which states this attempt to exploit helen kanes fame was not successful. the mystery girl was in fact kate wright who was also a voice for betty boop from (1931 - 1932) this song was recorded in (1929) also to mention kate wright also had entered the helen kane contest.
