Popeye made the jump to the silver screen in a 1933 Betty Boop cartoon entitled, Popeye the Sailor from the Fleischer Studios. Other than that nothing that I know of:)

Betty was never a love interest for Popeye. She danced with him in Popeye the Sailor, but that was as a prize for winning a feats of strength contest.
I'm not aware of any other cartoon in which they appeared together. However, there are over 100 Betty Boop cartoons and over 200 Popeye cartoons, so I'm not about to say it never happened.

Popeye and Betty Boop were both created by Fleischer Studios. Mae Questral was the voice of Betty Boop and the voice of Olive Oyl.

Popeye was not created by the Fleischer Studio, Popeye made his debut in a newspaper strip called Thimble Theatre by Elzie Segar. Thimble Theatre was created in 1919 but Popeye didn't appear until January 17, 1929. He was already popular before he first appear in an animated cartoon by Fleischer. The reason he first appeared in a Betty Boop Cartoon because he was not well known in the film media so Fleischer used Betty Boop to sell Popeye. there are other newspaper strip characters that appear in a Betty Boop Cartoon. They are Henry, The Little King, and Little Jimmy.

Olive Oyl was the Thimble Theater star, along with her brother Castor and boyfriend Ham Gravy. Popeye was recruited by Castor to find the Whiffle Hen, but became so popular that when Segar tried to drop him there was a public outcry. Olive gave Ham the elbow and Popeye became her boyfriend.
So Popete was well known as a strip cartoon star. The Fleischers introduced him to cartoons. It's normally assumed that Bluto was a Fleischer creation, although there may have been a very minor character of that name in Thimble Theatre. The Fleischers (probably Dave) introduced Popeye to spinach.
Comix, have you read the History of Betty Boop thread? I'd value your input.

I think "Popeye and Friends" was a compilation. I don't think they were together in any of the cartoons. I'll find out more.

Popeye and Friends stars Popeye, Olive and the usual crew, along with Foghorn Leghorn and Casper the Friendly Ghost.
Popeye cartoons include "Spooky Swabs," "Patriotic Popeye," "Spree Lunch," "Nearlyweds," "Ancient Fistory," "Taxi-Turvy," "Popeye for President," "Assault and Flattery," "Fight to the Finish," "Bride and Gloom," and "Gopher Spinach."
Foghorn Leghorn appears in "Growing Pains," and Casper appears in "Fright from Wrong."
Sorry, I can't find any mention of Betty. She's a star, so if she was in it she'd be in the list.

No she was friends with olive oyl
if you watched popeye the sailor cartoon it seems that olive oyl doesnt mind popeye dancing with Betty Boop when they both do the hula hula
Also In myron waldmans artwork you can see betty boop and popeye and olive oyl all friends in a few of his artworks
and myron waldman worked on some betty boop and popeye cartoons so it makes perfect sence :)

:mad:Certainly not
Popeye already had a girlfriend called Olive Oyl and i know olive used to cheat on him alot but they was always made for one another
now betty boop appeared in the first popeye the sailor cartoon and it was mainly to boost popeye she did a little dance with him
also to note Betty Boop & Olive oyls voice was done by Bonnie poe so olive and betty seem simuler becuse they share voice actresses
Mae questel, margie hines & Bonnie poe voiced of Betty Boop also voiced Olive Oyl. its just mae questel was the best loved voice.
some people like margie hines olive oyl voice.
as said before the voices bring the characters to life and diffrent voices make the characters seem somewhat diffrent.....;)
anyway to answer your question i dont think i would like to see popeye with betty boop.
betty boop has her bimbo

I think them two would be such a cute couple. I think that one of the voices of Betty did Olive Oyl. Don't quote me on that one though.

That's really very intersecting facts that are provided in this post. I hope both Popeye the Sailor & betty were very good friends. These two have a perfect couple on screen as compare to popeye & olive oyl. That's my opinion.

Sorry i cant help myself :( i just have to quote when it comes to the voice acting in the old fleischer studio's cartoons DX
Your Right someone200 it was Mae Questel, she did the voice for Olive Oyl and she was also the Populer Voice For Betty Boop. Although 2 other of Betty's Other Voices Bonnie Poe & Margie Hines also provided the vocals for Olive Oyl. Take the episode Popeye the Sailor (1933) for Example, Bonnie Poe Provided Both Olive Oyl & Betty Boop's Vocals. Anyway this Fourm sure has Updated in the Last years so i think we can now Add Pictures to our Posts which should Def be Fun!
Here's a Image to Show everyone that Popeye & Betty are Really Great Friends. also Popeye's Heart Belongs to Olive Oyl.... although Popeye does have his hands around Both Olive & Betty! :0

Oh i also forgot to add, There was this Series, Called the Fleischer News which was like a Comic Strip which starred all the Fleischer Character's & Sometimes Betty Boop & Popeye were together in Some of the Strips or Artworks.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3164/3093700669_861d21614e.jpg
As you can see (1934) Betty, With Grampy Popeye & Olive Oyl. ( Fleischer News)
Also Here's some images which totally Relate to this Popeye & Betty Topic.

Popeye & Betty together on Dvd.
http://www.bettyboop-a-doop.com/pictures/group/betty_boop_with_pudgy_and_popeye_color.jpg
This Image would Suggest that Betty is a Close Friend to Popeye The Sailor.
Like Betty Says in Popeye the Sailor (1933) Strike up the Band For Popeye the Sailor! Cash in His Hands right of a Whale'r Hand in a Row! Dont let him go! He's an inch but every inch a Sailor!
