Winter hit today! We had a lake effect snow storm and got 4" in a couple of hours....this is that really heavy heavy wet snow.

They put that deicer down so the roads were dry. Hit fog though on the way in. that's the stuff I don't like. If it's really thick you can't see anything in front of you or behind you. Scares me especially at night.

I would have to agree with you. That ice can be very dangerous. Caused me to put my old car in the ditch a few years back. I didn't get hurt, the seatbelt worked like a charm. but it scared the heck out of me. It was under a layer of slush and I didn't realize it was there. The slush didn't help me much either, so between the two of them, away I went into the ditch. I was only going 30 mph at the time, thank goodness.

Well candles give a little bit and you'll be getting what we're getting right now. The ground is covered with snow and it's still snowing. We were forcasted to get anywhere from 4 to 8 inches today. I don't really want to drive home in it but I have no choice. 40 miles home. If I take the freeway it will be better. They keep I-90 pretty clear over here in this area. Lots of big trucks travel it.

Sure why not! It stopped snowing at the moment. Don't know when it's suppose to start up again. The drive home last night wasn't all that fun. The road I thought they would have plowed wasn't. So my top speed was 35 and it's a 55 mph area. I didn't care. The car behind me didn't seem to mind. In fact he was going slower than I was.

We haven't had snow since last week. But it's pretty cold. Yesterday it was only 19 degrees out. Couldn't hardly keep the house warm even with a fire. Ended up turning the heat up a little more and putting more wood on the fire. Then it finally warmed the house up. It doesn't help that the house is 50 years old.

It did snow again this morning at work. But only at work. The company I work for creates it's own climate zone. All the steam and stuff from the plants around here causes it to do it's own thing. There's enough snow to cover the ground outside here at work.

Hot Buttered Rum Mix

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 (16 ounce) package confectioners' sugar, sifted
1 pound light brown sugar, packed
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS:
In a large bowl cream the butter and the sugars together until smooth. Add the softened ice cream and mix until a creamy consistency is obtained. Transfer this to a freezer container with a tight fitting lid. Place in the freezer for up to 1 month.
To Serve: Place a heaping 2 tablespoons of the frozen mix in a highball glass or coffee mug. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons dark rum. Pour over the mix 6 ounces of boiling water and stir until the mixture is melted. Sprinkle top with cinnamon or nutmeg and serve forth!

Here you go. The stuff is really good.

Alot of people tend to get more depressed in the winter time than any other season. With the gray skies, cooler temps, and rainy days, there isn't alot a person can do. I know I find myself start feeling blue when it has been yucky outside for days at a time!

I can see why people would get depressed in the winter season. It's cold out, dreary, like you said can't do much. Right now I would like to have some sunshine for at least one day. or a few hours. That would be nice.
