what a great idea!!

i live in between Sunderland and Durham!
it's great becuase at the top of my street there are 2 bus stops, one taking me to durham, the other the sunderland, both great shopping areas which take about 20-40 minutes to reach!

Durham is a great place if you like history and being able to shop whilst being somewhere that looks old. Its full of modern shops but still has its old winding cobbled streets and its very famous catherdal!

http://www.durhamcathedral.co.uk/

Sunderland is good for a more modern shopping experience. it has a shooping center called the bridges! It doesn't have as much intresting history as durham but it has a good night life for young people.

http://www.thebridges-shopping.com/

from sunderland i can also get the metro or the bus to newcastle, which i alot biger than sunderland and has much better shops!! from newcastle i can get the train to the metro center, the largest shooping centre in europe!

Here is some pics of around the state.

National Route 66 Museum
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a3/bettyboopfan/RT66.jpg
This museum encompasses all eight states through which the "Mother Road" traveled. Numerous artifacts and antique cars along with rare historical documents and collections recapture the spirit of "The Road."

Roman Nose Resort Parkhttp://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a3/bettyboopfan/RomanNose.jpg
Set amidst a beautiful canyon, recreation activities at this state park include an 18 hole golf course, swimming pools, tennis courts, volleyball court, hiking trails, two lakes, trout fishing in season, miniature golf, canoeing, paddle boats, horse stables and hayrides. Group camps, tent and RV campsites are located throughout the park. The area also offers good opportunities for fall foliage viewing. Roman Nose Resort is also on site and offers lodge rooms, banquet rooms, a full service restaurant and cabins. Teepee (tipi) rentals also available in the summer months.

Tallgrass Prairie Preserve
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a3/bettyboopfan/Buffalo.jpg
This scenic route on public county roads takes visitors through the heart of the Tallgrass Prairie Reserve and through adjacent private ranches. Starting and ending in Pawhuska, the complete drive is approximately 50 miles, and takes about 2 hours at a leisurely pace with time for stopping. A diversity of grassland and forest is home to over 300 species of birds. Other wildlife includes white-tailed deer, bobcats, armadillos, beavers, woodchucks, badgers, coyotes, and more. Bison have been introduced to the preserve and are growing in numbers. There are 4 scenic turnouts, picnic locations, a self-guided nature trail, a newly added 2 mile hiking trail, and a historic 1920 ranch bunkhouse.

Lake Texoma State Park
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a3/bettyboopfan/LakeTexahoma.jpg
Lake Texoma is Oklahoma's second largest lake, and one of the premier striped bass hot spots in the Southwest. Besides fishing, the park offers swimming, camping, picnic areas, horseback riding, trail rides, tennis, hiking, nature programs, indoor fitness and recreation programs.

Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a3/bettyboopfan/memorial.jpg
The Memorial grounds include the Field of Empty Chairs with each chair honoring one of the 168 people who were killed; the monumental bronze-clad Gates of Time; a shallow 318 foot long reflecting pool; the promontory and Survivor Tree; Rescuers Orchard and a special area for children. The 24,000 square foot interactive learning museum tells the story of the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Visitors to the museum hear the only known recording of the explosion, see the chaos and devastation immediately following the bombing and learn from family members of those killed, survivors and rescuers, in their own words, about recovery and rebuilding. Powerful video programs, moving oral histories, bomb-damaged artifacts and touching stories all combine to create a powerful and unforgettable experience.

Oh my everyone lives in exciting places. I live in Washington state. Pretty much smack dab in the middle of it. Where I live it's all farming. We live eat and breath farming. The hubby and I grow Apples and Cherries. We do some hay but not for much longer. It will all be planted to fruit trees in the next few years. I work for a french fry factory. Washington grows the most potatoes in the US. I've learned not to like french fries because I have to smell them all day. Yukkk!!!

We have a gorgeous mountain range here in Washington, The Cascades. I love driving over the pass it's wonderful.

Well that's all i can think of at this moment. Later.

I want to go back to Phoenix Arizona. I loved it when I lived there, only about 6 months. It was great. Loved the heat. Besides my grandmother moved down there several years ago and I have not been able to get down there to see her. I miss her.

I live at the coast of Southern California where the weather is mostly temperate and nice all year. (Yes, I think we have the best weather in the world.) I grew up in New York City, which I always felt (and mostly still do) is, in most ways, the greatest city in the world. I grew up with the wonders of 'Broadway' (Oh how I love those shows), great culture, and unbelievable conveniences (If it exists you can usually find it easily somewhere in NY). New Yorkers may be thought of as rude by some but are mostly just more open and candid (and honest with themselves) than people elsewhere. If you have a friend in N.Y., you have a friend for life. Certainly not so in Southern California. However, I must admit I prefer living here because of having more space (I don't care for living in the middle of tall buildings) and this gorgeous weather. And I do have a lot of the conveniences here too although spread out more.

WOW - Pictures of Belize are beautiful (thanks for sharing). And, it sure sounds like Belize is much more conservation conscious than this country. (Something I strongly believe in). But how r the everyday conveniences?
