These people are making money illegally. BikerBettyBoop owns a web site that sells nothing but licensed Betty products which is the way it is suppose to be.
MGCHAN made this thread for us to report anything illegal, nude, or inappropriate with Betty on it that people are selling, using, or posting.
That is exactly what everyone here is doing.

Some members, including myself, do not like to see Betty degraded in this manner.

I am sorry if you think us members have no lives because we are trying to stop the illegal use of the Betty image.

I am also sorry that you feel like you should be kicked off the board here.
That is not what we set out to do here. Everyone is welcomed and everyone is intitled to their opinions as well.

I think your response was right on and I sincerely appreciate you and everyone else's support in this matter.

It really drives me crazy to see these illegal items being sold on eBay and it puzzles me when people think it's not that big of a deal and that there are worse things for people to be concerned about.

It's exactly that kind of attitude that contributes to these illegal items being made and sold on eBay. If people didn't buy these things and more people were concerned about it like we are, then those items would be banned.

But I'm on a mission... like I've said before... I will continue to go after these sellers and illegal items til they are all gone for good. I'll just keep trying. Eventually these sellers will get tired of me bugging them!

I still don't like seeing her image portrayed in a distasteful way and I regret that you feel I should mind my own bloody business in this matter.

I will not give up this cause... I will continue to battle those eBay sellers who sell these items. And I could use all the help I can get.

This is probably from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. There was controversy about whether Jessica Rabbit displayed an upskirts shot and wasn't wearing panties (rabbits normally don't). Later it was claimed that Betty Boop's top slipped when she was talking to Eddie Valiant. In both cases the shots lasted for 1/25th of a second and were unlikely to frighten the horses.

It is rumoured that in early Betty Boop cartoons, and especially in the early Talkartoons, the animators sometimes inserted single 1/25th second frames of Betty wearing less than she ought to, not that she wore much anyway. This was an in-joke, and Disney and Hanna-Barbera animators were also guilty of momentarily undressing characters. The practice is highly illegal (the frames are known as "sublimal") but was impossible to detect until DVDs enabled cartoons to be viewed on a frame-by-frame basis.

If it did happen, such frames were removed when Betty Boop cartoons were remastered in the 1960s and early 1970s.

The practice has been illegal for a long time, but some animators couldn't resist it. It's a bit like etching cartoon characters into integrated circuit chips.

Personally, naked Betty Boop images don't bother me. I think she looks a lot sexier with her little dress blowing in the wind than she does with her kit off. However, some people may be offended, and King Features, legally responsible for preserving Betty's image, dictates what is and is not acceptable. You can use any licensed image for personal purposes (like on a tribute Web site) but if you use an image for profit you (quite rightly) need to pay a license fee.

Unlicensed images sold for profit are illegal because they are unlicensed and doubly illegal because they are used without permission on "pirate" goods. That is what this particular forum is about. The piracy does bother me, especially when it affects the sales of legitimate, ethical, license-paying distributors such as BikerBettyBoop. It is, quite simply, theft. I really don't care whether an unlicensed image is clothed or unclothed. Theft is theft.

The problem is that the image is unauthorised and illegal.

King Features are responsible for the Betty Boop image, and choose to keep the image clean and wholesome (if sometimes scantily dressed). That is their choice, and I believe it is favoured by the vast majority of Betty Boop fans.

I support this myself. My opinion is that the naked body correctly portayed is neither obscene, nor particularly provocative. Very few people would describe Michaelangelo or Raphael as pornographers. Nevertheless, allowing naked Betty is the thin end of a nasty wedge. IMHO Betty Boop fans do not want to see pornographic or hentai images, and the line needs to be drawn somewhere.

However, clothed or naked isn't the point. Unauthorised is.

All honestly held viewpoints and open discussions are welcome on most forums provided points are made politely. There is no need for personal abuse, nor any place for it here.

Ooohlala is a valuable and valued member of this community. She has contributed a great deal to it. I particularly value the opinions and comments of the younger members, and especially one as active and articulate as Ooohlala.

I am surprised I B Booped that you posted such a hurtful statement to Oooh La La. She is a Supreme Super Booper with over 4,000 posts on this forum! She is a valuable member here! It is necessary to post such links so that the sale of goods containing unlicensed images can be stopped.
