Has Betty two dogs or it has just changed colour? Sometimes I see it with back ears and before with white!:confused:

The animators were not always consistent with the colors and the way the characters were drawn.

I have seen her with 2 different dogs also. However someone told me the one with the black ears is a cat. I've never known her to have a cat.:o

The small dog with white ears is Pudgy, her pet. It's possible the other dog we're referring to with black ears, is Bimbo, which is her boyfriend.

Confirming whether there were two dogs or not and a possible cat, I'll get back to you on this.

OK thanks, I'm trying to get a Betty Boop Theme painted on my motorcycle and I'de like to have both animals in it.

It was Pudgy and Bimbo... but... they never appeared together in any cartoon with Betty! So, you saw either Betty with Pudgy or Betty with Bimbo. Additionally, Betty never had a cat as a pet.

The bike were those colors when I bought it. And I had a Betty Boop Angel vest pin, took it to a Tatoo shop and had that Tatooed between my shoulders about 5 inches long and
2 1/2 inches high. It's a real eye catcher in the warm weather months. I liked the tatoo so much I had it painted on my tank.
But now I'm bought new fenders and tank. Having it painted
Mother of Pearl White, and I'm trying to get the Betty Boop Film
Strip in black and white down the sides of the tank. Having Betty's face cut out of the fender for my Tail light and brake light.
So every time I hit the brakes, her face will light up. And her hair and body painted around the light going down the back fender.
I had to send my sheet metal to the guy. But he's in Arizona and it's a 3-4 week turn arround. I should be getting them back
somewhere arround the 15th of Feb. God I can't wait. I have some imagination when it comes to Betty Boop. Gotta love her.

A member brought to my attention that since Bimbo is a dog, there are two dogs.

Bimbo is more of a 'dog' character. He speaks, walks on two legs and wears clothing.

Pudgy is a dog in every sense. He walks on all fours, barks and was in a pet store.

So... yes, that member is right about two dogs, but Pudgy is Betty's pet dog.

:confused: Hello everyone, I was watching #3 of my video collection of Betty Boop and I noticed A cat and he looked alot like felix the cat the cartoon charactor is that where he got his start? What I mean is, Is that when they decided to create Felix the cat?

I have read in BB history that the black and white dog is called BIMbo and is BB's boyfriend and the white dog is BB's dog called Pudgy . to answer about the breed, can't he be a sort of king charles (French name) ?

Bimbo appeared in three color variations and is noticeably larger than Pudgy:

- White face & ears/black head & body.
- White face, ears & head/black body.
- White face/black ears, head & body.

No. It's just coincidence that the cat looks like Felix the Cat. In fact, in the earlier Bimbo & Betty Boop cartoons, you'll occasionally see mice that even look like the early Disney's Mickey Mouse!

Felix the Cat first hit the screen on November 9, 1919, in Feline Follies. Felix the Cat was created by Otto Messmer for the Pat Sullivan Studio.
